I had my xbox softmoded using Autoinstaller Deluxe. BUt I thought it was tim to clean some things up, so I figured I would use XBMCAI. Well, I messed it up. After some messing around and pulling out XBOXHDM, I now have error 13.
I found my original drive I softmoded years ago, and am able to boot that, so I can get the unlocking code if needed, but I booted XBMCAI and looked around at the options. There are two that I dont know anything about and I was hoping you guys can help me out...
BIOS Flash section. Never messed with this before.Whats it for (The manual says only mess with it if you know what you are doing...S I'm not messing it with it)
CHIMP - Looks like it might be something I can use to rebuild the drive, with the older drive plugged in. Was going to try, but when it boots to the first menu, I cant do anything. Do you have tgo have a keyboard plugged in? Controller doe snot seem to control it.
Hi,
You could try to fix your error 13 by inserting a `live` enabled game then going through the motions of connecting to `live` WITHOUT your Ethernet cable attached
The Bios flash section on the disc is for flashing your Modchip or the TSOP chip on a pre v1.6 xbox.
Chimps a handy tool for cloning your harddrive to a larger one, is the controller you are using third party ? ... Try using an official Microsoft controller _________________

So I guess its the MS dash thats messed up, right? The Live Game thing did not work. However, While trying Spinter Cell, I still have the SID files on there, so I am able to boot into that - unfortunately, I dont have a proper MS backup, and apparently, dont have the proper MS dash files at all, since it would not make a backup. I thought I might be able to eject SC and put in XBMCAI, but it just rebooted when I tried.
So, since I was able to boot SID, I used the file manager to run XBMC from the HD. Now I assume its a simple matter of FTPing the MS dash files, right? Whats the best way to do that?
And I am using a 3rd party controller. All the MS ones not longer work...
you could put the original harddrive into the xbox, FTP into it, backup C & E to your PC then put the other drive in the xbox and overwrite the C & E partitions with the ones you have backed up.
Id go with the backing up of C & E option if i were you _________________

Since you still have your original hdd i would do the same and backup everything you can possibly get including your unlock hdd key and eeprom backup..
