I have a softmodded xbox with a 160 gig hdd.. I was going to put a 160 gig in my freinds but the eeprom file was not in the backup folder like it is supposed to be??? I have looked everywhere in ALL the folders and subfolders but it is no where to be found?? If the eeprom file is not on the hdd then what went wrong?? Everything works just fine other than that eeprom file not being where it is supposed to be?? So what can I do to uprade hdd??

The stock xbox wont have the eeprom on the HDD since the eeprom is found on the mobo, you can use SID5 to back up the eeprom or just use chimp to build the larger HDD.

Like I said before I have a 160 gig hdd in my xbox but I dont think that it is reading all of it ?? I aslo read somewhere that you have to create a "G" partion after 137 gigs?? I used xboxhdm and it did not ask me if I wanted to create a G partion?? if it is true that 137+ gigs goes onto "G" then could I put my original hd in the xbox and use chimp to make a "G" partion (if it will even make a "G")on my 160 gig? or would I have to format the 160 gig hdd and then use chimp??

use chimp to format the hdd, would be easier and less hair pulling. _________________

The way i do it is to use chimp to build the HDD and then use xboxhdm to add the G drive, or you could use xboxhdm to make the F drive take it all as long as you don't mind it formating the F drive first.

Could you also not just pop in AID after chimp and format the G:/ only? Or does that only work with a chipped xbox? _________________

so chimp itself will not add a "G" partion? I used xboxhdm to make the drive the first time but it did not have an option for a "G"?? and what about the program called xbox partition program?? could I use this to make a "G" partition?

that is the tut I used the first time but I could not make a g partition with xboxhdm? It asked me if I wanted a F and it made it but it didnt offer for a g? If nothing else I can FTP everything on my xbox to my pc and remake it.. I still have everything to do it with.
