Hey guys. I am at a loss here. i pretty computer savvy and have been trying to put the pieces together for adding roms to my xbox or directly to the emus of that's hat has to happen. I have all my backup roms for snes on my pc, just trying to get them on the xbox. Yes, it's already modded, suped up and ready to go. Also, as far as I know, there is no way to play pc games on xbox unless someone knows something I don't. My "new" laptop won't play oblivion to spec, but the desktop I built myself out of dinosaur parts and an invidia card (which my laptop has) runs it fine. It would be sweet to play pc games but I'm sure I'm shooting for the moon. Thanks

you can ftp the roms to the xbox hdd or depending which dashboard you have you can burn them the roms to a cd and use the file explorer of a dashboard like unleashx, xbox media centre or you can use dvd2xbox.
there have been plenty of pc games ported to xbox like doom,doom2.....also you can play old ms-dos games with the ms-dos emulator.
check your pm for more info.

You could also just ftp the roms to the roms folder inside of the emulators folder. _________________

I'm in the process of trying to ftp them. I got this pre-modded and loaded with some stuff. It has avalaunch and media center and I tried using discs that were iso'd but I'm not sure if they were properly iso'd or if xiso is something different. The xbox just says "no disc" with cds or dvds, but so does my dvd player, so they could be bad discs. The ftp process is a little confusing and I'm not sure I have the right cable. I conected the xbox to my laptop with an ethernet cable. Unfortunately, even if that was right, my vista is screwed and I can't open my control panel or my network setup so it may prove difficult to switch the IP.

it sometimes depends what make of dvd drive you have in your xbox, but i find if you burn the roms in the form of data disc and in just their raw files and not in an iso form that it works.
an xiso is what xboxs read they want read normal isos,i would try the data disc method to see if you have any luck.

If your going straight from your laptop to the xbox you need a crossover cable to ftp. _________________

I tried the data disc a few times. I really think it's the discs because my dvd player won't read them either. So, I'm going to get discs that I know will work in my dvd player. Assuming that works and my xbox will read them, I'm finding it difficult to find where and how to transfer them to the xbox. I found a few different rom folders with nothing in them. The only place i found a rom folder that had roms in was when I was in the media center and through "file explorer". I.e.-MC360 guide, file explorer, e-drive, apps, emulators, roms and bingo, bit I can't find a way that wants to load anything. Maybe the emus will recognize them? I read that if you read roms off of discs that the save state function becomes null once you shut diwn, so have them on the hd would be optimal. Thanks for your input so far and I'm sure we can resolve this because I know it's not that complicated.

Put all the Roms on a disk in XISO format and then use the XBMC file explorer to copy the ROMs from the D drive to the ROM folder they go with.

I will most likely try that, too. On a side note, is there a way to get the regular xbox screen up? I was able to get it up once, but it may have been a fluke unless there's a button to push or something. Every time I put a disc in, it say's the disc is damaged or dirty, which, prevents me from putting games on my hd as well as playing them. I'm trying to play Morrowind and I managed to get it running for a little while but it loads way slow and sometimes not at all.

Are the disks origenal and you should be able to go in to your C drive and select default.xbe to launch the xbox dash unless you have a dule boot xbox in which case you just boot up the xbox with the eject button.

I'm using original and un-burned games. It is dual-boot, but eject goes to xenium. Thanks, I will try the other way.

Dont forget the HQ Autoinstaller Supports ADDON Rom Packs..
There is documentation on how to create your own ROM disks for use with the AIDELUXE installer from HQ!
