Ok, this is what i did
1) i did a hotswap, which failed
2) it failed because when i put the xbox on it doesn't give any errors, it only gives me a black screen after the xbox logo (i searched other forums and it's quite a problem)
3) i managed to looze my backup and to loose my eeprom.
So my question is.. can i recover my eeprom? can i bring life to my braindead xbox??
but without the eeprom the x box is dead? there is no alternative way ?
so i unlock my hd, put it in my pc and do a file recovery?

There is EEprom readers out there that could read eeprom off the mother board. Reference http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/357863
Lots of reading but gives you idea how to build one and what its doing. There is prebuilt readers Ive seen. But very few online now. You could always put a mod chip on it to bypass the eeprom check.

I got to go with ren3gade here, the chip is a sure fire fix and if you get one that uses a solderless solution you can pop it in and get it going in no time.
