Personally, if I were going to spend up to ~$80 I would get a modified samsung 616t off of ebay for roughly the same price. These are supposed to be the best drive because they don't have the incompatibility issues that any of the other xbox drives do, including the samsung 605 that everyone seems to want.
Not sure if this link to the search will work, but we'll try it anyways. You can get the drive alone, for about $50 or less, or you can get one already modified to work on an xbox for about $80-90 with shipping and all.
