Before I started messing with my retail xbox, I booted SID5.01 and make eeprom and MS backup. I copied the entire \Backup folder as well as the entire contents, as-is of C: and E:. This was pretty much all retail stuff.
I used xboxmhd to prepare, from a scratch, a seagate 160g HDD. I used my retail backups of C: and E: and my eeprom. This all worked fine and my xbox boots to MS Dash as expected.
I've since tried a few times to get SID to work and install dual boot like I did on my original retail 8g drive, but it just doesn't work.
I also have an issue in the MS Dash, that when I click "network", it freezes up.
Did I do the wrong thing by using retail C/E for xboxmhd? Or is something else going on? Any way to fix this without having to swap back the 8g drive to get softmod copies of C/E ?

You might want to pull a copy of the MS dash off the aid disc and put it on the new hdd to see if it may have got mucked in the copy over.
