I wanna add a few more dashboards into SID 5.0 so I don't have to break out AID every time someone wants XBMC or any of the other dashes. If you can how do I do it exactly. I'm guessin you'd just unzip the file and add the other dashes but I wanna make sure. _________________

SID isn't really designed to hold all the dashes. Remember, SID has to be small enough in size to fit on an 8Mb memory card, so that you can mod in the first place.
Thats why AID was created and is 500Mb, whereas SID is 7Mb. So, its not really do-able mate.

I understand its made to fit on a 8mb mem card but I use a 256mb usb thumb drive which is why I'm asking. I would of never brought it up if I didn't cause I know it wouldn't fit and if you notice I do use AID I just would like to be able to install the dash they want using SID instead. _________________

Defenitly let me know man I really wanna do this since it would install much faster than from a disk or through FTP. _________________

i was thinking somewhere along the lines of using the action replay software, in conjunction with a 512mb mem stick, but to get this to work will have to use the trick to make your pc think the mem stick is an xbox mem card, then it would be a matter of replacing or adding xbmc to sid.

You would have to add the dash into the way sid installs things. It might be hard if your not too good with coding for xbox stuff. _________________

It's all very well for people like us, who have done mods or are used to them. Having a mem stick for saves and transfers is not something your average Joe Blogs, first timer modder is going to have, whereas a memory card is. Thats why SID is designed the way it is, to make it accesible to everyone, from first timers to veterans.
If we had different sizes of SID, to fit on 8Mb, 128Mb, 256Mb etc, DJB would never have a life. Thats why we have SID and AID. The two are designed as a package. This offers best results.

AID isn't too bad to pop in after you softmod anyways, because you will still have to put in it later to get all of the apps and emulators. _________________

I've had a few requests about this actually...
I might make one in the future that includes XBMC aswell, and thats it.
I will focus the size around 64mb so its not so huge, and it will have to be a VERY basic version of XBMC aswell. It will also have to use RAR compression which has been questionable with UnleashX before (the dashboard that AID and SID use as its backend).
So my final word is this, maybe.

That would be pretty bad@$$ DJB. If you could PM me a few tips on what I need to do to add more dashes to SID for my personal testing and use I would be incredibly grateful man. If not thats cool I'll just work through it myself. _________________

No need, I've already developed SID 5.10 and SID 5.10 Memstick
Just gonna put it through a testing phase with a few people then I'll release.
BOTH versions include the Enigmah NTSC-PAL Video Switcher installed as an app, and the Memstick version also installs Dvd2Xbox, DVDX, and Xbox Media Center (either as a dashboard when you select it, or as an app when you don't select it as a dashboard).
