I Just installed a X3 in a xbox 1.6 and everything is work the way guide said it would. I made a bios.bin fileout of M8Plus_16.bin and made a dummy file of 100 megs and burnt them to a dvdr and with write protect turned off and switch one on i tried to flash the chip but now when i power up xbox with chip enabled the E on the switch panel flashes blue a few times and then stays blue and eject LED flashes multi colors but TV stays black. Can anyone help me get this right?

The easiest way to flash the X3 is via HTTP. You can connect the Xbox to your home network via Cat5 cable and enable the IP on the chip.
Once you do that, just open a browser and type HTTP:// plus the ip that is listed on your tv screen, and it will connect right to the chip.
Just click the browse button to browser your HD and select the bios.bin file that you are flasing with.
You should be using a X3 compatible bios though, and I am not sure if the EvoX M8 is a good bios on the X3. I just modded a 1.6 with an X3 and used the X3 1957 bios. All is good with the machine.
Here is how you know if you are all good prior to flashing.
Power up the Xbox with a quick tap of the power button. If you have followed everything correctly you should get a bright blue X3 logo on your switch panel. This means that the mod is booting from the main 2MB Flash Rom and everything is functioning correctly. Your TV screen should show FlashBIOS v3.x. To test disabling the mod simply press and hold the power button until the X3 Logo shines bright red. It shouldn't be longer than a second. You will now see your Xbox booting with the X3 disabled and the TV screen should show your Xbox booting up as normal with the Green X Logo. To test booting from your 256k backup Flash Rom you need to press BOTH your power button and eject button at the same time. The X3 logo should sine bright purple (a mix between the Blue and Red LED's). Your TV screen should show FlashBIOS v3.x

Yeah...that would be great. Then I can give better Aladdin advice!! Now that I have done the X2.3's, X3's, SmartXX's (just today) and Xenium's, the Aladdin will definitely help me.

hey mate,
when you make a .pdf of the tutorial can you please save a copy as a WORD .DOC and email to me.. I will add to the tutorial section in text form too so the search engines fine the inforamtion users are looking for.
Ill ship you out 2 x aladdins and 1 x programmer.. So you can play too.. Mate my time is getting less and less every day.. This website is getting very vcery buys now.. Im looking into upgradeing the sevre bandwidht again already in less then 3 weeks..
Out bandwidth limit at the moment is 300gb but i will be increasing to 400gb for the christmas season.. Its gonna be busy buys buys.
Ill send the aladdin's on Saturday morning when i get my first time off.Ill put in anything else i think you might need or find interestingt.. Do you still want that extender i bought you? I have it.. It finally turned up.. Let me know mate.

I have installed 4 Aladdin chips total. On older xboxes they work great except for in flash mode. I have had no luck flashing them in or out of the xbox. When i installed one on a 1.6 xbox, The evox logo flash screen appeared and it appeared to be working. But after i ran a auto installer on the disk, none of the apps would work(phLoader,Biocheck,... The loading screen would come up but thats it. It would go no further.

I just talked to someone in Chicago that has the same thing happening. I hooked him up with an installer and walked him through it so I know it was formatted and prepared correctly.
I don't know what bios it was flashed with as it came preflashed. It allowed him to load the AI and install everything but all the apps just sat at the loading screen and spun.
I talked him into buying a Xenium. He had it installed and HD loaded up in less than an hour and a half. Running flawlessly, and he put an older X2 bios on it too.
