i tried the drive twice, first time i thought i did something wrong with xboxhdm, but i'm pretty sure i got it right the second time.
could try it a 3rd time but i dont think there was anything different to do.

I would suggest trying A.I.D. it has taken care of HDDs that other Apps gave me problems with.

Just a few checks:
Jumper set to MASTER?
Don't plug the drive in until AFTER the hdm menu
Use the HDLOCK program from option #4 and follow up with Atapwd to make sure E and L have plus signs under them.
Make sure the EEPROM file is functional otherwise the WRONG locking code will be displayed and you will still get error 5 or 6

Well, That step where u talk about putting the drive in after the hdm menu, i dont think so, because i didnt do that before when i was softmodded and upgraded my hdd. I put the drive in then booted up the PC.
Also, wes asked if you made an F drive with it, if not then you need to do so!
