Hey all. I was wondering if anyone has an issue running NFS Carbon with an Xecuter chip installed. I read awhile back on other sites that people were having trouble running NFS Carbon with, I believe ,was the Xecuter 2 but Im not sure. The game will boot to the loading screen and then freeze. It does this whether I run it from the disk or copy it to the HDD. Is there a compatability issue with Carbon and Xecuter chip? Im running evox dash, AID 3.0 , with a 80 GB HD installed , and all other games work fine. I am going to empty the cache on E: and try that first but if it doesn't is there a way to find out exactly which version of my xecuter chip I have installed? Maybe theres a flash or other upgrade available.

I definitely have the X2 chip and I cleared the cache on E:. Didnt make a difference. I browsed the sys config area and changed 'auto start games' to yes and tried again...the game worked, no lockup. I played a race, saved a profile then IGR'd the game. The game fired up again ok. Then I turned off the xbox and rebooted. I launched the game and it froze again! Im gonna put it on the HDD and see if it makes a difference today but it didnt work last night so there may be little hope that it will work today. It must be a setting somewhere because if it doesnt work on HDD or DVD drive then it probably isnt the drive.

No go on the HDD. Game locks up at the same point whether I use HDD or DVD. I guess messing with the settings and having it work 1 time was a fluke. Anyone know what would cause the game to not boot. I guess the chip is ok too since the game worked once. It hangs at the same spot every time.

I figured out how to run the game. I didnt solve the underlying problem, if there is one,but by making changes to the sys config settings, I finally got it to work. I did exactly what I did the first time I got it to run and it worked again. I managed to skip some steps through trial and error and I found that turning off In Game Reset then trying the game would cause it not to work but when I re-enabled IGR and then restarted the game it booted fine. Call me crazy but that worked so its a bit of a hassle but at least my kids can play their new game. Now Im gonna try it like this on the HDD and maybe that'll save some time and wear and tear from popping the disk in and out a million times.

I put the game on the HDD and the game also works but disabling then re-enabling IGR. Yeah it is strange but it works so I really cant complain. Thanks for all the help though.
