my copy of the old AID has been messing up on me so when i heard that AID 4.01 came out i started to download it. when it was finally done i tried following the same steps that i do when i back up my games. i tried using the qwix to patch it up but it does not recognize it. i used alcohol 120 to burn it but my xbox sees it as data. can anyone tell me how i can do it the right way or what i am doing wrong... thanks in advance.

Use the software that came with it. Patching with the AID ISO updater, and burned with the dvdecrypter or however it's spelled. Also, try to use DVD-R, they typically work better from what I've heard.

for some reason i cant get some programs to work on my computer so dvdecrypter would do me no good. the only thing i have been able to use is alcohol to burn my stuff. i tried nero but it freezes on me as well as other programs as for the AID ISO updater, were can i find it or if i already have it when i down load it AID 4. were can i locate it.

Try the tools folder!
Look for AID ISO Updater.
I've never used alcohol but if it can burn an ISO it probably should be able to burn AID. Nero will burn the AID disk O.K, but as suggested the AID software comes with DVD decrpter.
Look around and see if there are any tutorials or forum topics about alcohol.
If your pc is freezing with Nero or DVD decrpter then you may have other issues to sort out before trying to burn the ISO. _________________ xbox v1.2

In the manual that comes in the compressed aid file theres a section that tells the order in which to add the updates to the original iso file. DVD Decrypter is in the PC Tools folder included in the compressed file. There is also a section in the manual that tells exactly how to burn the iso with DVD Decrypter. Mine burnt great to a dvd+r even tho -r are recomended. Be sure to include the 1gb dummy file in the final iso to help your dvd lasar read the disc better. Hope this helps!

you dont need the dummy file.
If you patch the ISO with all the main patches it'll be over a GB anyway so you'll have to use a DVD-R

I used a DVD+r with no problems. Is it just some drives that wont read them?
EDIT: I apologize, I was wrong, the stack of DVD's tha tI grabbed a disc from WAS -R. They look identicle to my +R's

ok i found out what was wrong. it was my winzip. it would not let me see the other material but once i got it to work everything else worked good. i used acohol 120 to burn it and it work on my xbox. thanks everyone for ur help.

You wont be able to view the contents of the AID ISO being that its in an xbox format. I made the same mistake and thought my downloads were all corrupted. It sucks being a newbie
