i have an xecuter 3 ce in my dudes xbox he had someone install it and brought to me to put a 120gig hd in it. they didnt have the original hd when putiting it in. so when i put the 120 gig in it the inside light was blue but it kept giving me a eror 16 which is a dashboard error so i tried my slayer disk and it wouldnt boot up. i have a soft mod xbox with a disk drive that reads cdrs so i put it in it and still wouldnt read it just kept giving me an error 16 does he need the original hd before he can flash the bios or do anything or is there a way around this. please help

do you know what kind of drive you have? also sometimes the different brands of drives are very picky on different brands of media.
for instance my dvd drive will read a maxell dvd-r, but not a sony dvd-r, etc...
maybe try a different type of cd to burn the iso of the installer on it, and get AID bro if you are going to use an installer...also use dvd-decryptor to burn the image and burn it at a very slow speed.

As you had no original, which program did you use to build the mod/dashboard onto the 120Gb drive?
i used the cd drive thats in my soft modded xbox and it reads those disks finecuz i use my slayer disk all the time on it but it wont work onmy friends dont knowwhy and they didnt put anything on the 120gb they put the chip in and brought me the harddrive and the xbox

he could have a different kind of drive. there are 3 different types, actually 4
samsung a &b, phillips, and thompson.
they are all different on how they read media.
so his might be a phillips whereas the one you are working on now is a samsung.

Well you need to flash the chip first. Boot the xbox with the power and eject button so it loads flash bios then get X3 3294 bios and flash the chip with the switch on on off off off and make sure the led on the chip is red. otherwise it wont flash.
