I also just purchased a widescreen 37in HDTV and couldnt wait to game on it. My problem is , i hooked everything up and to my disapointment the visuals looked very stretched out and bland because of me using my old rca cables. To remedy this i went online ( ebay ) to purchase some component cables to increase the picture quality . I was amazed........at first. Then i noticed these weird lines scanning all over the screen intermittently ( like if you would record a computer's screen on camcorder........those lines you get ). I tried the other component slot , same thing. It doesnt prevent me from playing as i can only really notice it sometimes. I just wanted to know if this was typical for cheap component cables or if my tv's component slots are busted ( i doubt it but......) here is the link for the ones i bought if this helps
Link
thanks

Yep, you have to change the settings in order to get the HD quality. _________________

You need to load the MS dash from UnleashX and change the settings it the MS dash to 720P or whatever you want. Just go to settings then video settings and you will see it. Let me know if this doesnt work and I will try to help you further.

just a quick update , i installed these on an unmodded xbox and put it to 720p then 1080i...........it works great!! SO i guess they work fine , but i am still a little confused as to why unleash wont set them up properly. I mean , if Im not using the ms dash why does it still need to be set up there........i thought unleashx overrides that stuff. Anyways , i will try this and give you guys an update
thanks

I tried just loading it (Xboxdash.xbe) but it tells me my xbox needs service ( that was after i renamed it too default.xbe too). So what I am going to do is reinstall everything myself using this site to help me so i know what was loaded and what wasn't. Hopefully the xbox dash will help like you where saying. I'm getting AID4.0 on a torrent @ work as we speak , i ordered a new action replay off of ebay (hasnt arrived yet ) , got a crossover cable and the 007 game ( non-platnum hits )..........so im trying to get the tools to do this myself , instead of someone doing it for me

Hmmm...
You won't need a new action replay if you softmod will still boot... AID can re-install the MS Dash, and a new softmod, as long as you can boot to it.

alright i got it!!! I sat down with AID disk and was fooling around with it all weekend. There where some steps i was not doing causing it screw up , i think i have it now. I am now able to dual-boot unleashx and the ms dash without any problems ( now that i used SID5 to install everything and not the installer my brother had gotten somewhere else ). The pdf file on the Aid disk helped ALOT!! And i see now that i didnt really need the action replay ( somewhere i misunderstood the tools needed to softmod......) but whatever now i have one if i ever need it. I did notice that after setting up , the menu options seem abit slow to navigate and that system performance is acting like a pc w/ high cpu useage ( is this common on dual-boots? ). The dvd2xbox doesnt seem to work correctly ( or anyother copying software that came on the aid disk, gets to about 20 percent and either freezes or gets an error ) so i still have some wrinkles to iron somewhere. For the most part things are alot better then what they where ( i did lose all my previous backups and saves but whatever ) , but like i said just a few minor things to work out. Thanks guys, i will start another thread to address some other issues if i cant figure them out. Thanks again!!
