I'm really not sure. I've never used the setup you're describing. Have you checked the xlink help page? I have a freind who is microsoft certified in networking and if I see him in the next couple of days I'll have him check out your post and see what he thinks. _________________

The only way that I know to set up Kai without a networked PC is with a special Router with one of the linux firmwares...
That will tell you whether your router is capable of such modification... I can't help you though the actually flashing process, though, because I bought mine on ebay with this firmware already loaded...

Some ISP's require your xbox's MAC address to be registered in order to connect, also I would recommend that you connect via ethernet cable, not USB. USB limits your connection speed.
Your setup should be... modem, router, w/PC & xbox connected to router. I understand that you had it working before but this is the recommended method.

It's recommended but not necessary, I was just noting some other possibilities.
I work with internet setups every day, it's part of my day job.
You can do it as option B on KAI's site but make sure that the cable between xbox and PC is a crossover cable, or it will not work properly.

Since you appear to be getting frustrated with our attempts to help you... and I do understand your frustration. You may want to try to contact the admins at xlink... since they designed it. I'm sorry you are unhappy with our trying to help. Good luck.
Can one of our admins move this topic to the correct forum? Maybe someone there may have come across the same problem.

Just out of curiosity, are you using DHCP for your IP or static? Sometimes using DHCP works better for your scenario. Based on the info that you provided earlier, it seems that your DNS Server settings are incorrect. If you use DHCP those settings are set automatically. BTW DNS Server settings are the part of your network configuration that allows internet access.
