I flashed the TSOP to X2_4977, but I didn't customize where my dashboard was, since apprently Xbox AID put the dashboard on E:, and when I rebooted I had the custom X, and then it would hang at a black screen.
So I went back into Raincoat and FTP'd the old M$ dash onto the box, to try the AID again. and the Microsoft dash did work.
But when I tried to run the softmod, the screen goes black, and then a white screen appears, and then it reboots splinter cell.
Doesn't the X2 BIOS have a built-in FTP?

i know with the X3 bios you can hold the white button when you boot and it goes to the configlive screen, you have to have an original microsoft controller too.. but i dont know if this goes for the X2 bios though... worth a try... then you could FTP in.

X2 doesn't have that.
I unlocked the 250 GB HDD, and then I reformated the drive with the softmod on it already.
Then I reflashed the BIOS with a support for evoXdash.xbe on E:\.
