Aquired xbox, checked out and is comming up with error code screen #16. The next thing I did was put it in a modded xbox to see if I can lock or unlock the drive. No can do. I was wondering if a Hotswap would fix it or is this xbox a doorstop. I assume that it is softmodded as I don t see a mod chip on the m/b. And how it was softmodded I don t know. Is there a way of erasing the softmod from this stage and try to get back to original xbox for now. Any comments greatly appreciated. Thanxs

Tried the hotswap method, still can t unlock. Even if it did unlock I have none of the original info on the xbox or drive that you have to write back to the drive to unlock it. As far as I understand that the hd is married to the xbox, and you can t use anything but the original. Another question is I have a modchip off another xbox, if I was to put that on would I get anywhere with that. Thanxs

installed a mod chip and unlocked the hard drive that way. Looks like the drive is missing alot of files.I can get to the boot up screen. I was thinking if I was to ftp all my files from another box to this new one is that going to give me some other issues relating to motherboard and hardrive conflict or is it going to be alright. Any replies greatly appreciated. Thanxs

All of the dash file are standard only the eeprom from the mobo is married to the hard drive but if it has a chip then you will be fine. What I would do is use AID to install the dash and anything else you want.

Would this be the proper way of using the AID disk, If I was to ftp files from AID from the computer over to the xbox or just you insert it in the xbox dvd drive and start from there. I think I tried using through xbox drive and the disk wouldn t do anything. Tried burning AID several ways and was unable to use from xbox drive. Thanxs

Extract the AID rar files. Burn the iso file (disc image) to a cd using DVD Decrypter or whatever burning application you have. There is a pdf manual in the AID download that explains all this in detail. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS
