Ok guys, I'm in need of some help here. I have a version 1.6 and an X3CE installed. I just did the install and I get a boot-off-boot-off-frag when the chip is enabled (quick press) but I can still boot normal with it disabled (long press). I've tried taking the whole sha-bang out and redoing the job thinking maybe I bridged a connection or had solder splash but I dont see anything. Is there something I could be missing? All of my connections look perfect so I have a hard time believing it was anything I did. Is there a dip switch setting I could have wrong? I'm lost here......and getting irritated by it.
Btw, I tried to boot it up 'enabled' with the drives out but still plugged in. The chip lights up inside so I know that it does have power (how much..I have no idea, but it powers up) I also tried the 'backup' bios double-button-push. I don't know if I am timing it correctly but it does the same thing as well.

when you do the back-up you quick press both power-eject and the chip controller should be an almost purple from mixing of both red and blue lights... and have u flashed it yet?? or is this the first time you've done anything with it..

The backup doesnt come on. I am aware of the process for getting to the backup BIOS but it doesnt work. I am unable to flash the main bios either. It never boots to the Flashbios screen to allow me to flash. Its almost as if there isn't a BIOS on the chip at all.

Did you install the HDD, LAN, D0 wires? They are required, not optional. Check your D0 solder point.

hdd, and lan aren't "required" only the d0 point is... i did not install the hdd and lan and it works perfect. the d0 point is the one that tells the xbox to look on the chip for the new bios..

If you are going to pull the board to solder in the pinheader and the D0 wire, why not just make the other two solder points? They are really easy to do anyway. It will save you from having to do it later if you decide to get an X3CP or other accessory that requires them to be soldered in.

I checked it over about 15 times. I overlooked a TINY TINY TINY solder bridge over a trace. Got 'er fixed. Now I'm trying to flash the bios via HTTP but am having a little trouble. "Unknown Flash! Halting!" is what it says on the TV. Monitor shows it working fine....

Flash protect is still enabled, check your dip switches and the switch on the chip.
