Does ne one know if u can change the switching mechanism for an x3 so u can disable the chip through a quick press and a long press will enable the chip.

I thougth the X3's had their own OS like the Xenium's?? Not sure, I'll have to do more research. I seriously thought you didn't need the switch anymore...
can anyone confirm?
The X3 is a pretty new chip bud...you may want to wait till the bugs are worked out. I have read some posts on other forums where the chip tends to be a little buggy with certain bios' and xbox versions.
You can always go Xenium Ice or SmartXX V2!! It seems you are willing to buy a quality chip! Kudos to ya mate!
Just be prepared.

2 Late!
Got the chip already and it is playing up!
I installed it into my Xbox as shown in the diagrams but am having problems. I have Xbox v1.4 (or 5) and the the switching mech is not working. Basically I turn my Xbox (with a quick press) on and it quickly switches off. I then hold the button and it starts to boot up, but it goes into the MS Bios with the chip disabled. The eject button then begins to start flashing from green to red. Thats not all. The x3 chip only shows red (meaning chip is disabled), not blue.
Got to find sum1 who knows wats went wrong.
