K, you didn't put what keys you pressed. Did you type "3" for linux locking tools and then typed "unlockhd -a"? make sure you use the -a _________________

K, guess I missed part of your last post:
If your getting 6 it is locked with the wrong password. NEVER manually type in the password. If you have version 1.9 you should always use option 3, then "lockhd -a" or "unlockhd -a"
However, if your hotswapping... k, now I'm really confused. Hotswapping an error 6 will not work, since the xbox can't unlock the HDD.
Unlock the driev with xboxhdm
Choose option 1, then xboxhd. Then 1 to rebuild. follow the prompts.
reboot the PC, choose 3, and type "lockhd -a' to relock the drive.
If your locking the drive with this procedure and your getting error 6, you have the wrong eeprom.bin file on the disk. _________________

yes the factory hdd for the xbox gets error 6, but i can hotswap the 40gb hdd and unlock that on fine, just cant do anything on it because it says the drive is unlocked but locking is enabled?

Unlocked and locking enabled is good.
I really don't know where your going wrong, the instruction that you have work for everyone else. If it says the drive is unlocked, then you should choose the option to rebuild the HDD.
Do you have version 1.9? If not, upgrade it. _________________
