I hope I'm worng, but I don't think you can transfer games from one Xbox to another via System link cable. I read about a way of doing it with a router & a PC. I believe is system using a PC program to transfer the games from one Xbox to another. Hopefully, some more knowledgeable than I will respond. _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

I currently know of no way to xfer games via system link cables. It seems improbable, but I would imagine that software would have to be developed to allow such a thing to happen. Communication is possible, but I know of no applications that allow for transferring of data.
later all

While I don't recall the details, I imagined the software I'd read about was`sort of like FlashFXP, only from the PC, it would transfer files from one Xbox to another on the same network. Anyone else read such a thing?
But, like RealMcCloy sez, I've never heard of a direct way to do it, but it would cool! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

When you think about it, it should be possible as both xbox's have network capabilities.
Each Xbox would have to be on the same network. I would imagine that this could happen if both xbox's were connected to a router. Then maybe you could use Xbox FTP to connect to each other??
I am very network challenged...DJB would be the man to turn to in this case!!

I would *imagine* a link cable is simply a crossover cable, but I have never used one before so I cant say..
If you were to connect your xbox to a router, you would use a simple 'straight through' cable
If you were to connect your xbox to another xbox I imagine you would use a 'cross over cable'
networking knowledge:
since, you use cross over cables to connect 'like' devices (ie: two computers, two switches, two of the same thing) I am almost positive you would need a crossover cable, although most (newer) network hardware (ie: switches, hubs, etc) will automatically detect what kind of cable you need and switch the points on the port to adjust. I hope that made sense.
in short,
xbox to xbox = crossover
xbox to pc = crossover (they're both essentially pc's, 'like' devices)
xbox to switch/hub = straight through (althought either cable *should* work, depending on the age of your networking device)
and to follow up, it *is* possible, its just a matter of someone making/writing the software/program to allow it.

Well a link cable is exactly the same as a cat5 crossover cable. It is theoreticaly possible using xbox FTP by starting server on one and then connecting to it from the other. I think it could work but I've never used xbox FTP. _________________ V1.4 Xbox

I don't think anyone would disagree with you... there's certainly some way it CAN be done... just weren't aware how to do it.
I looked at that link. I think that may actually have been what I read, but I was thinking a PC was somehow involved.
BTW, omni, that's a cool avatar! I've been watching him for 5 minutes. The guy's a stud... he never tires! Keep the sand outta your eyes, bud! _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room
