Hi,
I just got the new xecuter 2.6 with the xapter adapter, 120gb maxtor, and a cooling fan. I dont think getting all this into the xbox will be the problem due to all the great tutorials out there. But my problem is ive been reading up on flashing and evox among other things and it seems a lot of stuff goes against other stuff and only has succeeded in confusing me.
The program i think im looking for is the evox auto installer, but im not sure. if sombody could please let me know the steps after i put in my chip and blank hard drive I would be so happy!

I replied to your VIP TICKET too but i will paste a copy of my reply here too..
ok..
Basically after you successfully fit your modchip to your xbox you need to do this:
1. Flash your bios with a hacked bios not a cromwell bios..
eg. M8 Bios is a good choice (supports larger hdd's for the future)
The Cromwell bios is only for booting linux
2. Download the XBOXHQ AUTOINSTALLER 1.3
The XBOX HQ AI comes in .zip format so you will have to extract the .iso file from inside using http://www.winzip.com (WINZIP) before burning to a DVD-R/CDRW using 'DVDDECRYPTER' or 'NERO' burning software.
Any burning program will do as long as it supports .iso format.
(i use DVDDECRYPER which is freeware and available all over the internet)
3. Turn on your newly modded xbox that has just been correctly flashed as per the modchip flashing instructions and make sure the DVDR/CDRW (XBOXHQ AI) is inserted in your xbox..
4. A Menu will come up on the xbox and then you need to read the XBOX HQ AUTO INSTALLER TUTORIAL/WALKTHROUGH we have available all over the site.. Its in PDF format and in the downloads section too.
anyway, that will get you started.. YOu have everything you need to get your xbox running at your fingertips..

Another newbie here!! Thanks for my VIP membership, sorry for bothering you but the prospect of openning up my XBOX had me gushing with X'citment. Anywho, I downloaded XBOX HQ AUTO INSTALLER v1.3 Final,unzipped it and burnt it to CD-RW using NERO but still I get nothing. My chip is up and working and the XBOX is fine. I have tried using Princo, Imation and Memorex media, but I have to use CD-RW cause I only have access to a cd burner. Is there any specific media I should use? Can you offer any other suggestions to help get me wide open?

First, before you go any further you did successfully flash your machine..correct?
you will not be able to launch the AI until a hacked bios resides on your modchip.

hi esqnupe,
If you are sure your modchip is flashed correctly it must be a media problem... I had nothing but trouble with an old xbox with a phillips drive. I couldnt get it to read jack.. Actually it would read only one brand of CDRW i could find..
I would seriously suggest investing in a DVD Burner to backup your own games.. They are very cheap now and media is even cheaper..
