i installed the evo x dash along time ago with sid installer 3.0. i have not really had the time to fiddle around with my softmod until just recently. so i was just wondering what unlocking the harddisk does. i didnt want the risk of ruining my xbox so that is why i ask.

Unlocking your xbox will render your xbox useless, before you do anything make sure you have the real eeprom.bin backed up on your PC, as a precaution. Failure to back up your eeprom will result in a xbox that wont work and it will have to be chipped in order to get it functioning again. _________________

yeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppeeeeeeee thats correct, i did it 1 time when i didn't have me eeprom backed up and i f***** up my xbox so be careful!

thanks alot. im glad that i asked first before i went ahead and ruined my xbox. but now i have another question. i read that my version of softmod makes it so you cannot go onto xbox live. it was right, i cant. i have also read that someone who has the same softmod as me some how switches from ms dash to play live and then when he wants to mod he swithces back. i was wondering how he does this cause i really want to go on live without screwin up my xbox?
