Hello! I am new as can be to the x-box mod experience, but looking forward to future developments.
I recently purchased a hardmodded x-box although I am having issues figuring a few things out (Which I will attempt to sort out with the person I purchased it from) and then purchase a few pieces of equipment for "toying" with anf after that I hope to be sharing many interesting experiences with ya'll.

Why thank's folks, yes I read in one of the "newb" stickies I should add that information to my signature but in all honesty all I know about my xbox is that is an old copy of evo-x and my mod chip has more selector switches than the space shuttle.
Although soon I'll be speaking with the person I purchased the xbox from. (I prefer it that way installing chips makes me nervous every time.) And I can ask the about the details...
My main problem at the moment is can't boot a damn thing from the disk drive, and this old old evo-x dashboard is... confusing to put it mildly. HEHE... guess I'll see how this goes.

welcome to the site bro...you should be able to navigate your way on evo-x to some sort of "system properties" screen or something to get a little info out of it as to what type of chip you have and stuff... _________________

Nah, no in-built file explorer, Boxplorer is a seperate app which needs to be installed.
At the bottom of the main menu options, you'll find "settings". That'll give you some more info which'll help us out.
