Tom Clancy''s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory Published by: DJB on 2005-05-01 Page Views: 33649 Rating: 9/10
Review by DJBThis is the third Splinter Cell game released on Xbox, and will defiantly not disappoint any hardcore Splinter Cell fan. Personally I have never really got into the Splinter Cell series, so this was a first for me, but the amount of time I spent playing the game is only pulling me more and more info the game.
As far as a comparison to the other two Splinter Cell games, I don't feel that I can be fair with this because I haven't personally played the previous two.
Sound: Dolby Digital Sound is always nice in a game, especially a game such as this. The sound effects and background music were also very nice, and set the mood perfectly. No real flaws found here at all.

Graphics: I must admit I have seen better quality FMV sequences in some other games; however this still does not disappoint, the main thing I noticed was just some blackness in the movies when fading out colours, but this could be due to the video compression. The in-game graphics were perfectly polished, and the game interface is very nice looking also.
Rating: 9.5 / 10
Gameplay: Character movement seems pretty smooth, and the controller setup is pretty easy to get used to. The game itself seems very extensive, not only having different levels of difficulty, a decent number of levels to play, but also different ways to play each level, excluding the co-op and multiplayer features that are also available.
Rating: 9.5 / 10
Overall: This is a game for someone who likes a challenge, and wants to get hooked into a game which will take some time to fully complete and unlock. It has also hooked me, which is something I didn't think it would do before I started to do this review. Previously I've played such games as Syphon Filter on the PSone, but never really bothered looking into these kind of games on the Xbox, I'm glad that I've found something now that can keep me occupied for weeks to come.
