For some reason I deleted the MS Dash and then accidentally uninstalled the SoftMod installed (UnleashX). Now I'm getting a error, I forget which one because it I got the Xbox a very long time ago. The xbox is a Xbox Version 1.6b. Is there a way to access the softmod files right from the memory card (Action Replay XBOX 8MB) because I dont have the SoftMod file on my Hard Drive. At the time, the xbox was modded with the UnleashX dashboard. I can launch games perfectally fine, I just cannot access any dashboard to transfer the SoftMod file to the memory card. Could the dashboard be booted from a disc or anything?

Hi LegendaryFire,

My first suggestion and probably the easiest way would be to install a modchip of any type.. that way you could easily just boot AUTO INSTALLER DELUXE and format/reinstall.

When it comes to softmodding its not that simple but it can be done.. Smile Do you have backups of all your eepprom and hdd lock stuff?? The only thing i could think of right now would be the hotswap if you don't have backups.

Here is a link to pirrups hotswap tutorial:

HOTSWAP: Recover a Xbox HDD without eeprom backup

Correct way to HotSwap - for newbies!

hope that gets you started.. Smile

enjoy the sites,

cheers,

I would try to use Auto Installer Deluxe and try to install you dash back to default. or get XboxBoard.de Ultimate Boot CD 4 and use the Factory Setting. I had that same error I user XboxBoards CD and it worked fine but I would suggest AID.

If you need a link to the XboxBoard CD PM me

@ForAHobby
I have a HP Pavilion Media Center A1440N Desktop PC, its Hard Drive is sata. But its DVD Drive is IDE. Will this still work & will it put my computer to hardware failure?

@RazorsUnleashX
I have tried to run the Slayers recovery disc. But, it did not seem to read the disc, I dont think it has the ability to read a burnt disc.

Thanks,
LegendaryFire

Hey legendaryfire i know how to do it. Ive don the same thing you have
Its so easy. All you have to do is pop in your splintercell game, mechassault,
or 007 . the game you soft modded your xbox with. Make sure you
have the softmod files and it wont even have to boot the ms dash.
It will go to your game and do the softmod again.
After that backup your ms dash with what ever and backup your eeprom and thats all you will have your xbox back good luck.
