Alright guys, I've been working on trying to get my xlink kai to work within xbmc. I've read numerous posts and followed the official guide to setting it up, and it won't work. I configured xlink with all the proper settings and port information. I port forwarded the 30000 port on my Belkin router, and when I try to connect using xbmc, it says the whole thing about needing to reconnect with xbmc. When I do this, on my computer it says my xbox's ip UI attached, whatever that means, so it's obviously communicating with my computer, but it won't connect. There are no firewalls, software or hardware running. Any ideas on how to make it work? Thanks guys. _________________ XBOX v1.6c

So you can browse the rooms?? Correct??
Have you put in your XLINK KAI USERNAME, PASSWORD and PC IP under the system settings/programs in XBMC?
hopefully its just something small mate.. I have mine running just great and i have a router etc too..

Nope, I can't browse anything, it won't officially connect or anything, it just says "want to reconnect with xbmc?" or whatever it says, and I choose yes and it keeps bringing up the error over and over again. The funny thing is that it even says "192.168.2.3 UI Attached" where 192.168.2.3 is the ip of my xbox. Just wondering if someone had a similar problem or has any suggestions. What version of XBMC are you using??
Are you using the latest XBMC off AID2 final?? Thats what im using.
Also, Just to test try changing your XBMC skin.. It may be a skin error maybe.. hehe lol Lets hope.
Apart frmo that your nearly there.
Can you browse rooms etc using the WIN32 APP??
A TIP:
Go into XLINK KAI CONFIG and make it so XLINK KAI ENGINE never closes..
I think its set to close on a error.
Sounds like your nearly there if your xbox is found.

Yeah, I'll play around with it more later, have to finish up some homework for now. It's just really frustrating cause I want to get this up and running cause it sounds like an awesome feature. I'm using the latest build off of AID 2.11 so we do have the same build. Other than that, i've tried switching skins and it didn't seem to do anything different. Well, I got it working. I went ahead and UNforwarded the ports and whatnot and tried it that way and BAM, it worked for some reason. So I have everyone added to my friends list that listed their username. I saw that forahobby was online but he wasn't responding to any of my pm's or voice requests. We'll have to setup a time when we can all play some Halo 2, let the ownage begin. _________________ XBOX v1.6c

The tutorial you've pinned is good, I just went ahead and forwarded the ports on my router before trying it without first, so that was obviously causing a problem. All I did was UNforward the ports and bam, it worked. See ya online soon. _________________ XBOX v1.6c
