The day before yesterday I bought a secondhand modded Xbox.
I don't know if it was hard- or softmodded.
It worked like this:
If I'd press the powerbutton shortly it would start the normal Xbox, if I'd press the button slightly longer than I'd start EvoX Slayer (or something) and the light on the front would be orange, not green.
Yesterday I installed AID4.3 and did a one-click install (for hardmodded xboxes, which I thought I had). I think it included a format as well.
After I had to unplug the powercable for a while. No it's replugged again, but I can't seem to get the modded version back on, it'll only start the normal Xbox.
Hello,
It`s a weird install you seem to have, can you still run the `Auto Installer Disc`or any burned media?
If you can, i`d assume u have a hardmod.
Let us know if you can run it, theres plenty options available to you if thats your setup. _________________

No, after I installed everything and unplugged it for a few hours it'll only boot the normal X-box.
I can't run copied games or AID anymore.
So what I guess happened (I'm still new at this), was that it was softmodded, but when I did the 'one click install' for hardmodded xboxes (which I thought I had) I overwrote some files which wás the softmod. And when I shut down and restarted the softmod was gone.
Am I correct?

I've just had somebody come over to re-softmod my Xbox.
Can I now run AID one-click install for softmods?
What about this Eeprom-stuff? It can't lock my disk? What does that mean?
Edit: There is an option 'Create MS Backup from AID', is this an eeprom-copy on the AID-disc?
Oh, btw guys (and girls), thanks for all the quick replies and help!

There should be another option two slots up that cleary says Backup Eeprom. See if you can find that. Then backup it up to the E drive. _________________

You should also ftp the eeprom backup to your computer so you always have it. _________________
