I was wondering whats a expected FTP speed.

I'm using Filzilla to connect to my Xbox via Cat5 to a 100mb router. I have my PC plugged into the 100mb router as well.

When I backup a game to the Xbox drive and pull it across the network to my PC Im getting speeds like 1000K/sec but often from file to file it seems to drag before it downloads the next file. Is it a ftp thing on the Xbox or is there a setting? I've tried flashFXP and I get the same result. It pulls down a file then it seems to lag for a little bit before it pulls down the next.

Im running XBMC latest build.
Does the boost or passive make a difference at all?

Passive mode makes a huge differnce mate, if you turn it off you'll notice an increase in both speed and wait times between files.

Thanks. I could of sworn it was off, but I'll check later this evening.

Thanks for the advice.

I think I might of discovered a little bit of my problem. I was logged in while Xbox2DVD was on. I turned it off and returned to XBMC and holly !@#$. I was getting 10MB/sec easily. Before I was getting around 1MB/sec

There is no lag in between each flie its rather speedy and smooth. Man this tinkering around and figuring out your own little problems is becoming rather fun. Almost like a scavenger hunt. Wink
