i had my xbox softmodded a year ago,paid a guy to do it for me and i havent upgraded it since until recently i began reading lots about softmodding etc so i decided to try a couple of the tutorials which worked the networking,ftp etc then i read i could remove the splash.png and start.wav from the media section of the xbmc dashworked how badly i wanted to take the s picture of the guy who modded my xbox of my xbox and its accompany music but before then i deleted the face000.. folder from the UDATA and VDATA folders
then later replaced the splash.png and start.wav files.i restarted my xbox only to find out that after the xbox icon displays the screen goes blank and black,nothing else works games,music,dvds nothing at all i cant even ftp into my xbox no more i need helllllllllllp?please yall good folks out there help a brother restore his xbox to life i very much appreciate that.

Hey man, have you tried popping in the Auto Installer Deluxe?

If that doesnt work, you will need either a Chip, or to perform a hotswap(the tutorial can be found in the tutorials section here at HQ). Sorry to break it to ya like that, but thats how it is.......

If you can get back into the softmod so you can FTP, then do it. If you can't you must either hotswap or buy a mod-chip. If you get a mod chip then just make a unleashx cd and put it in your xbox and make the dash start. Then FTP all of the files back and you'll be good.
