i was soft modding my xbox for the first time and used mechassault and all was fine, until i got to the patch MS part. it gave some error and I now know that its because i dont have the 5960 dash. so now when it tries to load my dash i get error 13. so can i just put in any recent game and it will run it and allow me to update the dash? games still run and all but i thought that to update the dash you had to do it within the dash.

ok this is 2 seperate posts that i put together.
if you took a backup of your msdash files then boot your mechassault game and exploit and restore the backup and then u can update your msdash.
im not sure whos hosting the new ms dash files but if no1's hosting the msdash files then u can download AID and rip it apart cuz the msdash files are in there. once you have the msdash files you say you can boot a game so boot mechassault and load ur exploit and ftp into your xbox and delete everything in C:\ and replace it with the MSDash files you got from AID 3.1. and it should work if not you should try the hotswap but _________________

i'm connected to the xbox through ftp now, is there a way to instlal the msdash 5960 this way without using the auto installer?

yea but u need the msdash files...not sure if i can externally link u to the site that contains msdash files but ill just post it and if ne mod or admin edits it just pm me for the site http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/400161
