In a nutshell, yes, follow that tutorial if you'd like. There is a member here, pirrup, who has written his own version of the xboxhdm tutorial. It doesn't go into hard drive updating, but it's basically the same thing. But I would follow that tutorial that you listed just for the purpose of updating an existing softmod with a larger HD. The ms-dash files that are needed are located under pirrup's signature as well.
Good luck and keep us informed on your progress. Oh, and yeah, once you load dvd2xbox onto your new hard drive, you can rip your games to the hd and load them off of it. Enjoy your new box! _________________ XBOX v1.6c

yep this is really simple ... i was a total noob and i did it my own...
just put retail ms dash files on C that way u dont get any errors and to be on the safe side... dont put anything on E dont worry we will come back to that and take your most important part EEPROM...
what softmod did u do?? why cuz the eeprom is located diffrent on each softmod ... that way we can help u find your true eeprom....
sid 2 sid 3 sid 4 ??? or which other 1????
u will also need ftp access to transfer ur stuff u need...
once u have ftp transfer all of ur xbox ... d is dvd rom drive x y z are temp folders ... so u dont need them so that leads u to C and E sometimes F .... transfer all that ... well ur not gonna take c into xboxhdm1.9 since its not retail files so for that go to pirrups signiture and get ms-c ... now u also transfering E... leave it on ur pc that way u can ftp the E later once ur upgrade hd works...
why just transfer c and eeprom insted of e as well??? cuz it will fti u on a cd size and the e contains hacked apps emuls n stuff...
remember eeprom is everyting .. no eeprom no locking hd which no lockin hd = error code #06 ... or 05 i cant remeber.. then that is whr chips come in place..
but if u screw this up u can pop hd back and put ur disc agian and unlock it .. and re do it .. so no worries

I checked it last night it is soft modded (case has never been opened) as far as if its sid 1-4 I have no idea is there a way to tell which one they used?
It has the evox v3935 dashboard and unleash x dashboards on it now.

power it on and its one dash . ejet tray open and its another dashboard?

ok so pretty much u wanna put the games that are yours to ur hd ... didnt u say that the hd is alredy upgrade with softmod ?
if not then do the hd like i explained then from there grab a mem card and put the saves to mod xbox then grab aid 3 and the dvd2xbox latest ver is there install it and get going with ur xbox needs. _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

yeah its easy just fellow the guide tut ... put on ur xobxhdm C folder put it retail ms dash files... under pirrups signiture . then on eeprom folder put ur eeprom... now here is where its tricky if u have sid4 then dont grab the eeprom from e/eeprom back up ... NO NOT THIS ONE .. grab it from/e/udata/21585554/0000000/backup
and leave E empty then later u will ftp once ur xbox is up and running...
to lock the hd type in lockhd -a exactly like that...
if u get error code number 06 then just unlock it and re put new eeprom... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition
