I downloaded AID3 and followed the manual word by word. The problem I am having is with the AID3 ISO Updater tool. When I select the original AID ISO file (497megs) and then run the iso updater tool to add anything, mainly the one of the dummy files, and click update the ISO. The program takes about 20min to run, then the output ISO (updated) file is over 10gigs large. I tried just adding one rar file and it still gave me a 10gig file. I would say screw it and forget the rar updates, but I have to burn to dvd since my xbox will only read a dvd, and I need one of the dummy files in the ISO. What can I do? Is there a fix or work-around for this problem? Thanks guys for the help..............

so are you sure when you downloaded AID3 that you used WINRAR (http://www.winrar.com) to extract the AID3.iso file from inside the rar files??

If not install winrar and then double click the AID3.RAR file and extract to your pc.. Then try making again.

Just double checking.

let us know how you go.

btw.. you can still use AID3 without the updater.. Im still running the normal older version.

I am using winrar to extract the AID3 files. I have done everything line by line/word by word from the manual. I am really confused. I would just use the AID3 ISO without using any updates, but like I said...I have to use dvd-r to install and my dvd-rom will not read unless the iso is a certain size, so I really need to place the one of the dummy files created in the addons section and recreate the iso. Maybe there is another way.............

dummy files are just any files you have on your computer which are large enough..

When you burn AID3.iso as a disc image it SHOULT NOT be a DATA DISC.. Thats only if you want to backup mp3's etc.

Im positive even if you dont use dummy files the dvd-r will still boot.

Well........my xbox just sits there and blinks for a while and nothing happens with the burned disk. This might help with a conclusion to my problem:

1. I am using DVD-Decrypter to make my ISO's
a. Settings
1. Mode = ISO with Write checked
2. Source = Auto-Installer Deluxe v3.0.iso
3. Sectors = 248,668(MODE1/2048)
4. Size = 509,272,064 bytes
5. Time = 55:17:44
6. Destination = My DVD-r drive
7. Verify Box = checked
8. Write Speed = 2x
With this setup I click the drive to burner button. I then put the dvd into the xbox and try to boot it up and nothing happens. It will blink for about 2 min and then stop. I tried rebooting with the dvd in the drive, powering off with the dvd in the drive....but get the same results everytime.
