It could be that the memory card needs a different driver to get the gamesaves on it. and the soldering wont matter anyways you can solder on to it with out damaging the card its self to test it. _________________

you can so long the visual parts are not tampered with you can test it with by soldering a usb to it and testing to see if its the fact before returning it, they wouldnt know the differnce. _________________
