I dont know if I will get in trouble for 'promoting' a site, but I thought I would mention how pleased I was with my first Xbox Mod
I ordered a Brushed Chrome 12pc Skin & it was applied flawlessly in minutes & looks fantastic! I hadnt seen the black carbon fiber skin, but I bet that would look great.
I am not sure if this pic will load up, but here is my final product, just as a testament that their product will REALLY look like the pics on their site.

I would recommend paint instead of skinning, painting allows you to have a more unique xbox, and it is fun adn worth it when you see the finished product.

sorry man, I think that skin looks far superior to all of the paint jobs I have seen, even some that I have seen on this site

I agree. That has to be the sweetest brushed look skin that I have seen in a long time!!
I have been an affiliate for decalgirl now for about a month and have only great things to say about them. Their ordering, shipping process is awesome!!
I actually stopped producing skins on my own and just use their skins for my business as their service just can't be beat.
Every skin I sell from my company comes from DecalGirl.com
Painting cases have their place too. But, as fickle as I am, liking to change skin colors/or designs often, painting just isn't a viable option.
But, I have seen some very nice paint jobs as long as it's done professionally. I have seen some real botch jobs too!! Skinning is very easy, no dismantling of the xbox. They last forever and a day too. These vinyl skins would hold up outside for years and years, imagine how well they will hold up in your gameroom/dorm room.
I wish they could design a vinyl covering that allowed for some type of static skins to be installed. Something like the window clings. This way, you could peel off, reuse, and change your skin daily if you wanted without needing new ones...
hmmmmmm...what's that phone number for the patent office again? _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

I would like skins more if they allowed you to be more custom with you xbox. Such as covering the DVD drive part with a seperate color, Jewel skins, the fins, and the other open space that the skin does not cover. Also they are a bitch to get off, which makes it a hassle to switch. But if you dont want to void your warranty and make a custom design that paint cant do then skins are better.

Yeah, that's what I am saying. If you could use some type of covering to convert your entire xbox and then piece together your custom covering that could be removed as easy as 1 2 3 and then retweaked, that would be way cool.
I got a skin from gameconsoleskins.com once and that bugger was near impossible to get off.
I have changed my color once with decalgirl and it was very easy to get the vinyl skin off. Havent taken a pic of the new one, but here's the one that I had on. I also did an El Wire mod a long time ago so that's the wire you see around the X.
The image is way to big for me to include in the message...I didn't bother to resize...being lazy. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

Oh, and BTW, Since that pic was taken I also added a few more pieces. I originally accidently ordered the four piece instead of the 12 piece and didn't have the other front pieces.
It looked even better with those!! _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter
