I softmoded and the backup file for the ms dashboard was not correctly done, now the back up dashboard is the softmod installer page.. might their be the backup dashboard on xbins, or can I just use SID 4 to use the retail? (I want to go on xbl) _________________ Newb is such a harsh term... I prefer to be called one who doesnt know as much so asks to many questions to find out his answer.

no i dont believe so...what you would need to do is make your xbox retail again....and then run sid4.5 dual boot option.....
then you can get on live....

Ok, you're going to need a good backup of MSDash 5960 to dual boot (or use your MSDash at all after modding).
There's a few ways to do this. One, grab the MSDash off of Pirrup's signature in the forums. Just search the forums for posts by him, download it, and replace the files under E:\Backup\MS.
Another way (slightly harder) is to resoftmod with a single boot, use AID to install MSDash, which will revert your box back to stock, then resoftmod again with a dual boot.
THe final way is to remove the softmod (which you probably won't be able to do because you don't have a proper backup, but if this works...) by restoring your MSBackup, then popping in a RETAIL live enabled game, and try to hop on live (you won't be charged, it will just update your dash). one last way u forgot angelos...
if he puts xed
click uninstall all softmods , dont turn off yet .. install ms dash 5960 then turn off ..
then re mod it with dual boot = retial this time...
other then that yea just put it on e/backup or e/backup/ms
using ftp as angelos metnioned or xed as well...
diffretn ways ...

yea true but what im saying is on the part part u mentioned .. u said u probly needed the ms back up to restore ms dash..
and all im sayin is that u dont need it if u click the way i told u ...
i dk if this is possible on aid 3 .. as i never done it ..
but if it was it be almost the same thing
uniinstall all softmods then install ms dash.. and re mod frmo thr.

Thank you for the help, I think I will try XED once I get my computer working again. And I know I put this into two thread gus.. , I am sorry for that I thought I posted this in another website before posting it in this forum, only to go back and find I didnt and look like an idiot. But reading up on XED I think that should do it I just only have one question about it, do I put it on by FTP'ing or by putting it on a cdrw? the forum I found on it was a little vague on how to actaully put it on the xbox, from there I think I can get it tho _________________ Newb is such a harsh term... put it on a disc... dvd-r for sure .. i have non tweked phillps and reads all cdrs..
lets say u have the xed burned to a disc alrdy ..
load the disc on the xbox ... click
UNINSTALL ALL SOFTMODS , it will ask what bios u have choose NKPATCHER then it will ask to turn off DO NOT! TURN OFF YET ..
go back to menu and look for MS DASH FILES 5960 ..... it should be
under softmods.... once you see it click INSTALL MS DASH ...
not on e / somtin... nonono just INSTALL MS DASH ... then it will ask you to turn off .. NOW ITS SAFE to turn off.. from here you have a retail xbox ... just re mod it from their... _________________ Xbox 360 Premium edition

yea u bet its soo simple i pratically remember the amount of click with my eyes close ... lol from there u just re mod it .... since ur not deleteing anything, your original files and saves are there..
all your delteing is : the hacked dashboard... and ur probly going to re skin .... and thats it !!! notin else pretty sweet huh...
