Im having trouble connecting to the XLink service.
I have a Wireless Airport Express that supplies my Wireless network. Off this I run my PC (Wireless)which has the Xlink software. The Xbox is connecting via a wirless bridge and is Sofmoded with XBMC Dash.
I have the settings on the Xbox set fine i can see games and connect to Xlink via XBMC (MY Xbox also can connect to Shoutcast and stuff so i know its connecting to the internet) My problem is when i select a game launch Halo2 I see no games in the System Link menu.
On the wireless router (Airport Express) i have portforwarded 30000 to my PC and put these settings in the Xlink Config tool. When i then run the Xlink software and use the diagnostic feature my Xbox is not found.
Any ideas where im going wrong?

hi Jpritch71,
Ive heard a wireless setup is a bit of a bitch.. I normally used to use a cabled connection and had no probs.. Ill link you with a topic i started to help guys config their routers etc etc..
With wireless though i cant remember what you need to do exactly.
Hopefully another member can jump in..

Thanks for the reply much appreciated.
I toyed with the idea of getting an XBLive account after i installed my HD but decided to go ahead and Softmod it anyway. I like the fact you can play games of the HD on Xlink!
Anyhow thanks again for the responce if i get it working i'll let you all know.

Yeah, I tried doing it wirelessly and got too frustrated and switch it to a cabled connection, soooooo much easier. If I knew anything more I'd help, my suggestion is to just cable it up. _________________ XBOX v1.6c

I hope the forum police don't arrest me for hi-jacking another thread but I have a XLink account and went about setting it up on XBMC but whenever I get focus on the last field, the field that requires the IP addy for the Host PC (this is connected via an Ethernet cable - not wireless) it freezes and hangs and I have to reboot the XBox !
Is this something anyone else has experienced and if so is there a known solution ?
Also.... is it true you can play Halo 2 Campaign using XLink, and if so how many players in one game ?
Thanks in advance,
Vega.....

Very strange.. Are you sure your not already having network issues??
I would personally re-install you XBMC as there is a obvious problem there.. It should not be rebooting or freezing.. Lets hope its software..

You can have up to 16 players i believe in Halo2 on XLINK.. I used to play it everynight and is very addictive online.. lol.. I only just recently got XBOX LIVE for the first time when i got my xbox 360..
Hold on... 16 players in campaign mode ? I thought 4 would be the limit but 16 !!!
As for XBMC, yeah, wiped off the original and re-installed but to no avail. It just freezes on that one field. I have not experienced any other network related problems so not sure why its hanging there.

Is the computer running Xlink.......wireless???
I have this issue, and haven't got it to fix, so i must plug in cables to play on either xlink or xbc. _________________ Xbox v1.1

I've attempted the wireless PC and wireless Xbox and after lots of research you will find it's incompatable. It's stated on Xlink Kai too. The tunnel doesn't work when you have two wireless systems, one the xbox and one the PC. They state that themselves as a shortcoming and they are correct. It wasn't until after I got the pc wired that my kai worked well. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

yeh sorry abuot that.. I thought ou meant just normal campaign mode sorry.. I just browsed the topic while i was on my way out.. lol
Nope, my XBox is connected to my PC with an Ethernet cable through a router - which happens to also be wireless (D-link 624) but no it is connected with the Ethernet cable.
I can FTP from the PC to the Xbox so I think the connection is solid.
It confuses me that it just freezes when I scroll down to the IP address field in XBMC (using Orbs skin but also tried it on another skin). It will allow me to input my username and password without incident but once I go down to the last field thats it.

Sounds like you need to reinstall your dashboard or something..
If it is freezing i would reinstall another version.
Maybe try installing XBMC as a application again and then edit the .xml files manually..
Since you can ftp to the xbox i cant see why you cant get XLINK working.
If you cant add your xlink username to XBMC then thats the prob. Something is missing and you need to reisntall.
