While installing my softmod with AID 2.0 and the V 2.02 update I get this error saying something cannot be renamed. Anyone care to shed some light on this ASAP!!

for one.. Its in the Newvie Central section which is the wrong forum.. I doubt you will get many softmod experts reading it here...
Anyway, I used my updated ISO disc and it gave me that error.
It gives me the error right at the end and says "Action: rename." I remember hearing it was possible to just rename what needed it.
Is their any alternative because I am wasting ALOT of DVDs making ISO files again and again.

hi thomas,
Im sure you could rename the file yourself yes but god knows what it is.. Im a modchip man but have just recenly started using the SoftMod method because of DJB's great and ever evolving tools.
Ill send DJB a email to remind him to see if you can manually rename this file. I know you will be able to but maybe its more then that.. The script may fail at that point and be missing stuff.
I just don't want to burn ANOTHER DVD and have the same trouble and basically wasting the disc.
What can I do in my next one to ensure this does not happen again?

I had a similar issue with an earlier SID on a v1 xbox...in my situation it had to do with the fonts folder...easiest fix for you is prob just to launch the AID disc from the softmod menu and do a fresh format / setup of C with the proper dash etc then reinstall the softmod...or you could extract ms-c.zip from the AID ISO on your comp and unzip it into a folder on your hdd...then go back to the softmod menu and ftp the contents of that new folder to "E:\Backup\MS" on the box then choose "Restore MS Backup" which puts the stuff you need in place on C...then re-run the softmod...
Might be an easier faster way but hey...its 1am here and what I have listed will work in a crunch...

OK, I've found the problem here.
Seems 2.02 had all the updates except for the config.xml file (that was from 2.01).
So...
1) Hopefully you still have the 2.0 ISO.
2) Embed the v2.01 update into the ISO.
3) Embed the v2.02 update into the ISO (can be done at the same time as the first upate)
4) Burn the ISO
I apologise for overlooking this small error yet again. I've also made v2.01 available for download again...

Yes.
So do this
* Load ISO
* Load 2.01 update
* Load 2.02 update
* Save ISO

cheers mate, but there's a problem with the AID 2.01 update file, after you type in the confirmation code on the download it says, "this page has moved please update your bookmarks" _________________ <b><u>Xbox v1.6</b></u>
