I just recently bought a friends V1.0 Xbox for $75 plus a cheap game and a controller. I am at the moment looking at an xenium ice solderless mod chip. I am looking for one with upgradable flash bios, and I am currently using the 8 GB hard drive. I just want to either download a game or 2 to the the hard drive, or use a dvd copy. I don't have money for a hard drive yet, but i will probably get one in the near future. Could I run my xbox with a game or 2 withought a problem? I could just get one of my friends to burn it for me, or I will do it myself. The games mainly are 2-3 GB that i know of.

What you'll have to do is FTP in to your Xbox, and grab all the contents from D Drive (which is your DVD-ROM in the Xbox).

Use a program like C-Xbox Tool or Qwix to make the ISO directly from your D Drive on your Xbox, then burn the ISO. This way you won't need to worry about a larger HDD

Take my Xbox put FTP on my xbox, and just use one of the programs like C-Box tool and put it right to my xbox dvd drive to the D: drive in my xbox, then burn it as an iso to a DVD blank copy in my Dvd Drive.

Pretty much

once the xbox is modded your new dash will more than likely have FTP support (i think they all do now) so you use a program like Qwix and it will create an iso of the disc in the xbox onto your pc. then use burning software on the pc to burn the newly created ISO to a dvd. ex. dvddecryptor(free) or nero(free when haxxed Smile)

edit:

the xbox's D: drive is the dvd-rom (the game disc, must have a game in xbox ) and using Qwix you can create an ISO directly to your pc instead of first saving it to your xbox's hdd. first you will have to set up Qwix's connection to the xbox first. after that click "Create Iso" on the left, and then pick "FTP Folder". Type in D:\ Then click Create Iso and it will ask you where on your computer you wish to save the Iso. Hope that helps.

Yeah, that would make more sence. I have the old version of Nero, but Nero is crap about copywrited games. So i use blindwrite, which I have a 30 day free trial. Although I always end up reformating my hard drive, so i just have it for another 30 days free. I will install it when i get my mod chip installed in. Do you have the serial key for it, so i don't have to keep waiting untill I reformat my hard drive (possibly)? Or have it for another program. I am deciding on solderless, or regular? Can't decide.

A lot of programs have issues with copyprotection. That's why I have another application running in the background called DVD Region and CSS Free. You can set it to work with any program that rips/writes to DVDs.
