ok guys i got a tough one for ya. I upgraded the LEDs in the ring to blue and a better red. then i put blue and red underglow LEDs connected to the ring LED's so the colors match at all times. I now have 3 LED's hooked up for each, right blue, right red, left blue and left red. now for the obvious. it is sucking more power therefore the LEDs are much dimmer then if there were only one. NOW my question. How can i get more power to thouse LEDs and still have control of the color setting in Unleash and XBMC?

Sorry if im a little long winded..

Is this right ? ...... You changed the LEDs in the Power/Eject board, then wired some more LEDs to the P/E board ?

The P/E board LEDs have resistors on the motherboard, look at where the P/E board connects to the motherboard, on the left hand side (location R3G4)those are the Resistors, Get a Multimeter and check for 5v on the left side of those resistors. Wire your LEDs to that point.
TBH i couldnt tell you if this would work, but in theory your using the same feed to those leds, your just tapping into it before the voltage drop for the P/E board.

that is correct.

im going to try that. sounds like it would work. in theory.. but, the only thing is that i am trying to keep all the power going to the LED's within the p/e board and the yellow wires. so this way i can easly take off the faceplate and not worry about other connected wires.

Correct me if im wrong, but cant i just replace the resistors on the motherboard?

In theory you could just remove the resistors, bridge the gap then solder the correct value resistor (for your number of LEDs) into the yellow wire.
But i doubt its as simple as that, I wouldnt recommend it

i was thinking of removing the resistor on the m/b and replacing it on the m/b. just doing a straight swap. now that i think of it, it should work.. but bridging it should work the same as well.. only one way to find out.

I think the only thing your gonna find out is that your xbox doesnt work anymore.

Location R3G4 is the general location of the resistors, theres a PIC on the motherboard that uses those resistors also, Im not sure what ones you should remove, if any, without screwing things up

True. ok lets say i solder a resistor before the resistor straight to the point that the p/e plugs into for each LED. that should do it.. right? it would be getting power from both resistors but would still be getting more power, right? that way if something else is run off that same resistor it wouldnt be affected.

i could do that then cut the trace from that resistor to the led?? if i had to
