I've searched all over the forums, but I can't find the answer to my scenario. Maybe you guys can help me out. I have a soft modded xbox with unleashx, and I can't get it to read the xbox games that I burn. However, it will read the movies I burn.
Here's the process I've been using to try to burn my xbox games: First I ftp the game files from my xbox to my PC with flashfxp. Then I create an XISO of the files with Craxtion 4. Then I use imgburn to burn the XISO. I'm using verbatim DVD+R media and burning at 4X. And I'm getting nothing but coasters.
I've also tried qwix to create the XISO, and then burning it, but I still get a coaster.
Anyone out there care to shed some light? Thanks in advance.

Are the Games and Movies burned on the same brand of media ?
If so, try deleting the contents of the E/Cache folder, and the contents of folders X,Y & Z _________________

So i tried deleting the contents of CACHE, X, Y, and Z folders, but still no luck. I can play my friend's backups fine (same brand of media), but when I throw mine in, I get a message saying that the disc is dirty or damaged, when it isn't. Unfortunately, my buddy doesn't remember what software he used to rip and burn. Any ideas? could this have to do with the default.xbe file for the game?

I do it this way:
Rip the game to my HDD using DVD2Xbox
ftp the files to my computer
Use Xiso to create an iso out of the files
Burn the iso to a TDK DVD-R with IMGburn at 4x speed
Works fine for me (the brand of media that works on mine might not work on yours). _________________

I tried nero, but same deal. dartht33bagger: That would be nice, but my xbox hard drive isn't that big... Just for testing purposes, I downloaded a small xbox game iso from the internet called bubble pop. I then burned it and it played fine in my xbox. I then through it away because of legalities plus the game sucked anyway. So now I know my problem lies in either the ripping process, or xiso creation process; not the burning process. Is there any way to rip from DVD2xbox directly to my PC hard disk? That would probably do the trick... I read in a forum a while back that you had to edit the dvd2xbox.xml file for this to work, but I can't find the site.
You could use Qwix 101 to FTP and create an iso, or if you have the original game disc you could use Xbox backup creator - that reads the disc in the Xbox DVD drive and copies it to a directory on your PC. _________________

that would mean my problem lies in the FTP process. I'll give xbox backup creator a shot. it sounds like i'm "__" this close to getting it to work. Thanks for all your help guys. I'll report back with the results that xbox backup creator gives me.
