SO, I'm using the newest AID version 4.20 and it is listed to have the latest PCSXbox v.19 as stated in this post. I finally got around to installing it and to my surprise, it comes up on my XBOX as PCSXbox_1.5core. Can anyone explain this? Is this some alias for v.19? Please let me know. I' might send DJB a shout and see what's up if nobody can tell me. _________________

The 1.5 is the core version. Thats different.
In PCSXbox v19 you can use the core version 1.4,1.5,1.6 The core 1.5 is most compatible so it used by default. _________________

So you are saying that it is indeed v.19 and it's just using the 1.5 core? Why is that? Is my system detecting that 1.5core has the best compatibility? I'm a little lost here. It's my first attempt at PCSX. _________________

You are making a big confusion. The version core has nothing to do with the emulator version. It a different thing....
PCSX have 3 different core and their version number have nothing to do with the emulator version.
Check the Readmefile and see what new
Code:
PCSXBox - PSX Emulator for XBox v19
What's new:
- Updated UI core to most recent feature set
PCSXBox - PSX Emulator for XBox v18
What's new:
- Added buttons for L3/R3/Mode
"Mode" only functions in Dual Shock mode.
- Fixed Right Thumbstick X-Axis (was inverted)
- There is now a single directory for saves. If you were using
the 1.4 or 1.6 cores to play games, then you should move all of your
files/directories from E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX_1.4 and E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX_1.6
to E:\SAVES\PCSXBOX
- Implemented true Dual Shock+rumble support. From the game configuration
menu change the "Controller #" to "Dual Shock" to enable it.
No, Ape Escape still does not work - it's a core issue, not a
Dual Shock issue.
- You cannot use Dual Shock and multitap simultaneously.
- Added option to enable/disable rumble for controllers 1/2
- Added option to increase the rumble amount for controllers 1/2
if the rumble is too light.
- Instructions included on how to set up your own website which can
store/serve configuration files:
upload_download_configurations_instructions.txt
The only thing new in version 19 is UI set. _________________

Ok, I told you I have never even looked PCSX before now. So try not to get aggrivated with me. How would I know any of that wthout asking someone? I'm not a computer tech or anything. That being said, I was askng for your guidance to get these two roms running correctly because I have no clue. Once I get the hang of it I should be alright. Try to keep things as simple as possible otherwise it goes straight over my head.
I'm not trying to be rude, but it comes across as if you were getting a little frustrated. Please read the first line in the last post again. Maybe we can start this conversation over from the top. I'm all ears in anything you are able to assist me with. _________________

Before frustrations boil over here, let me jump in.
Ok Dkoots, the version your Xbox is detecting, the core v1.5, thats fine to be using and it is v19 that you have. From now on, we'll ignore the core 1.5 and refer to it as v19, that should make it a bit more simple to understand. If you've taken it straight from the AID disc then I know this to be correct.
Follow the guides listed and as I say, just treat as v19.
Sure thing FC. Thanks for the Lamen's terms. We talked it over through PM's and got everything up and running smoothly. I figured it was better that way than in the forums. We're cool though. It's hard to interpret conversations sometimes through text. _________________

Thats good to hear man. I'm always browsing the forums and if I come across a scenario like this one, where things are getting frustrated, mixed wires etc, I try to step in, break it down a bit. Sometimes thats all thats needed.
Glad to hear you got the info you need anyway, you ok with it now?

Did you read my tutorial??? You have to check the CUE file with notepad to see if they match.
If yes, when you select the BIN to play, the xbox crash as you said.... this normaly happen when the config is not correct.
Try this: Press X in the BIN file - the config page will open- select the core version 1.4 and press B.
If wont work it may be that the game image was wrongly made or should i say damage.
In that case you will have make a new one _________________

Well, the notepad thing won't work because the file is too big to open in notepad. It says file is over 512 MB. So there goes that option. I'm pretty sure they are the same. Maybe I can look from the file manager and see. Again though, it's prolly just a bad ISO. _________________

If it is ISO file... thats aa difrent story... Mount the ISO image in a virtual drive then make an CUE\BIN just like in the tutorial. _________________

I'm going to try a new ISO. I did it like i do all of them and it just won't work. I always extract the contents of the .rar file into a folder with the name of the game. In this case I have a Tenchu 2 folder with the bin and cue file in it and then I burned an ISO of the folder. I don't use my computer for anything except for that. I don't FTP at all. I'll let you know what happens. The download is taking a while. It should be done when I get off work tonight. _________________
