Haha, can you tell I get ancy with this stuff? The motherboard is sitting on my desk beside the old HD (which will probably get replaced with my spare 60GB). Now where's that modchip!
My friend suggested upgrading the IDE cable to an 80 conductor. Does the Xbox support speeds over ATA33?

Man i need to sticky this or something, i made a thred on this awhile back and if you put a 133 in your xbox you will gain a little speed nothing to huge.
I did put a 133 in my xbox and i did see a little faster load times and i do see quicker boot ups.
Any way look at this link and see what you think.

I ended up reading some very poor reviews about where I purchased my mod chip, so I ended up softmodding my Xbox. I may sell the DuoX if it actually arrives, or even revert back and hard-mod it. But regardless, the thing seems to work quite well soft-modded.

Look on the bright side man if it gets there and you put it in all you need to do is one click install and you'r good to go.
You need to keep in mind for each bad review their are two guys that got a mod chip.
Things just aint the same since the raids i guess.

Yeah, the softmod I used has evoX installed then the SoftMod installer/uninstaller. But with how well this appears to be working, I'm not sure if I'd really care to try a hard mod. The two games I have on hand worked flawlessly. The only thing I don't like is EvoX is the default dashboard and apparently you can't easily change to something else as you can with a hardmod. But it's in the Apps folder, so it's easy enough to boot to.
As for the RAIDs, yeah, I really should of entered the modding world before all this happened. I've just never been much of a gamer, hence why I'm getting a standard Xbox so late ^^; But oh well...it's modded, it works, I'm happy!

Thats good man, and if you want to boot to some other dash you can use the aid disk to install just about any other dash.
If you get the chip and dont want it post it on the HQ here and thay seem to go fast here.

I found some really complicated guides about how to load up another dash using the softmod and all, but I decided to try my own easy approach. I simply renamed the shortcut files provided with XBMC to evox.xbe(the default dashboard's name) and viola! I don't quite understand why noone else hadn't suggested this. And it doesn't work simply using default.xbe or the typical boot order you see with modchips.
*nods* I shot the site an email asking them to cancel my order. I never got anything in return, but also, my bank statement arrived today and there were no charges. Who knows, perhaps they never even charged my credit card...

Oh? I considered using the AID disk, but figured if I could do it without wasting a DVD-R, I would. Plus I figured the copy of XBMC on my disk was older than the most current stable release.
As for dropping the order, I only hope it works. I didn't look at when the statement was good through, so the order may appear on my next statement. But whatever, as long as I get the chip or a refund, I won't be too upset.
