Ok man did some reading and heres what i got and trust me it aint good.
Tries To Boot Three Times and then starts flashing red and green: Also Known as "Christmas Lights" Failed mod chip install, and broken traces on the motherboard.
You need to find and reconect the broke traces on the mobo or the ez fix and get a new xbox.

since the xbox is just fraging I can't get back to the dash. I was using splintercell softmod. and Im thinking that something else maybe wrong I bought this box off ebay as damaged (won't read disc.) and when i took it out of the box it worked just fine. I said oh lucky me. and then I softmoded it with splintercell and all was well. I then upgraded XMBC and added the most common apps, skins for evox, and emulators and all was well. then i shut it off for the night and thats the last I saw of it. just 3xboot frag.

with my experience level I don't think i could find the broken traces. I do think that i could fix them if i could find them . I have soldered on MOBOs before. I'm not done with this box It is older than my other two. but there is a part or two that i could use in the future. and if i get the time I might strip down to the MOBO and take a magnifying glass to it. thanks everyone on this project if anyone comes up with anything at all post it and I will try it thanks again Cjack

you won't belive this one. I figured maybe if its a broke trace if i place the xbox in the freezer for ten or twenty minutes the cool will adust the mobo a little and seal the break. well guess what when i took the xbox out of the freezer and hooked it up, it booted just fine I was even able to set the system time and check a few things out but as it warmed up It fraged again. but talk about thinking outside the box. I guess a magnifying glass and super scrutinize the mobo is in order. I may never it running right but I thought you guys might want to know this.

Thaths some good stuff there, got to watch out man if you left it in to long and the condensation builds up to much it could bridge and short again then youll need to find 2 gaps.

talked to a computer tech at work and he said thats how the recover data from a bad HD so he was betting on a bad HD. Talked to another tech that we call I&C and he told me to take canned air turned upside down and spot freeze different components to see if i can determine where the short is. both are good ideas so right now I pulled the HD and placed it in the Freezer for ten minutes, if it boots its a bad HD and I can Rebuild and replace it. if not I will spot chill the MOBO and see what happens.
