Good evening!
Last week I installed the Executer 3ce chip without any problems, I've been using it for 6 days now and it works great. I decided to install the Control panel tonight (has the USB ports, LCD, IR Port, push buttons for write protecting the bios, and the 1-4 buttons to control which banks you use for the bios)
First off, I just want to say that I think that it was MUCH harder to install then the actual modchip was lol
Anyways, I followed the directions (the ones from mod-chip.com) and it almost works perfectly!
USB Works, Chip status light works (blue when active), LCD works, but the push buttons and hdd/lan status seem to be non-functional to a extent.
The HDD/LAN doesn't light up at all (not a big issue, doesn't matter either way to me really), the IR port doesn't work, and the lights for the buttons don't work.
What seems weird to me though, is on the X3ce, if I have the switch on the chip set to green/unprotected, If I push the button in on the front control panel then the light on the chip is green, but if I unpush it, then the modchip says its protected/red.
If I set the chips switch to red/protected, then the button on the front of the case has no affect on the chip at all but the status light on the chip stays green? That seems backwards to how it should work I would think...
I double and triple checked my connections to the chip, and the IR ports and status lights of the different banks won't come on. Everything else works fine, and the xbox boots fine. How could have of that portion of the panel work, and half not work? Is there 2 seperate plugs I should have plugged in? It seems like that portion of the board just needs power to it or somethin?
Thanks for any suggestions!

As far as the IR Mod goes, it turns out I misudnerstood the product originally - the product features say "USB port adapter IR slot and window for upgrade to the X3 IR Mod". I for some reason thought that was included. That explains why it doesn't work currently
As far as the HDD/LAN light goes, if I understand correctly on the solderless install I would still connect the D0/LAN/HDD plug to the chip, solder the red/green leads to the appropriate spots on the motherboard, and just leave the D0 wire alone?
I just want to make sure I'm understanding correctly before I do this -
Thanks for that reply, I probably wouldn't have ever figured that out on my own!

You hit the nail on the head man pop down the hdd and lan wire skip the do.
The hdd and lan wires are ez just hold the wire tip to the point wit the side of a razor blade and heat the razor.
Holds up real good for me.
Good luck and let me know how it gos for you.

X3 pro switch... I ordered from www.americanxboxmodchips.com, and it asked if I wanted it and I thought it was just like a regular switch. I hope I don't need it, I don't see any reason for it anyway.

No that switch is not needed to run anything its just a quick way to switch banks on your chip.
If your like me and use one bios and never switch banks then its a waste of cash man.
