The Need For Speed titles have been around since the dawn of time, some good (Need For Speed: Underground) and some not so good (Need For Speed: Porsche 2000). NFS: Carbon is definitely a step in the right direction from EA, who have taken all the best elements of NFS: Underground 2 and NFS: Most Wanted and merged them into this beautiful offspring.
The game follows the events after Most Wanted, where you arrive back in Carbon Canyon to find that the city is divided into territories run by rival crews. Its your job to race em, beat em and take control back!For the first time in a Need for Speed game, you have to build a crew and race in an all-out war for your city against rival crews and opposing car classes. You'll risk everything to take over rival neighbourhoods one street at a time.As you'd expect from the team at EA, the game is superb. The free roam remains, allowing you to drive idly around looking for events and trouble. The customization and performance upgrades are tweaked and refined for greater detail (for example, setting brake bias or setting your car for acceleration, rather than top speed). The graphics remain fluid and smooth, with noticeable speed and weather effects.
The control system is easy to handle and get to grips with. All the things you need, such as NOS and handbrake are easy to use and non players will be racing aroung their car in no time.New for this game is the added feature of Autosculpt. Its a car customisation tool that gives you the power to turn every vehicle into the car you've always wanted. By modifying bumpers, hoods, spoilers etc, you can make you and your crews cars look exactly how you want them to!This game is the best in the series and a must for all NFS and racing fans.
