Having examined this game, one thing is clear, this game had a lot of hard work put in to it and you will notice it right from the start.
The opening music is nothing short of movie quality with a stunning orchestra performance worthy of any blockbuster. I was blown away by the score starting at the opening sequence and scattered throughout the game. Nothing short of beautiful and doesn’t detract from the intensity of the game itself. The acting is well done and convincing.
The graphics are some of the best I’ve seen and challenge Halo 2 easily.
The opening sequence movies are live action taking place during an interrogation that sets up the entire plot and completing levels sets up another live action movie.
When enemies are shot, the physics appear to be just perfect. In some cases, your shot is so perfect that the enemies twitch after the hit while on the ground. Snipers can at times hang on to a railing after being shot, climb back up, grab the gun and start sniping again. A hit doesn’t guarantee the kill. The AI isn’t stupid either and it will challenge you to stay sharp or be a blood puddle.
The guns are awesome with each one having it’s own strengths. Silencers, ability to go fully automatic, burst or single shot on almost all weapons and zoom scopes add to the fun.
Everything can be torn up. Use buildings, trucks, cans that explode and even the enemies land mines against them.
There are shortcomings though that disappoint.
Lacking ability to control team mates on missions (they tend to run around behind you or even give away your position to snipers)
Lacking ability to jump. Even the slightest incline can prevent you from moving forward. It would have been nice to be able to climb through windows rather than have to find doors that put you in the line of fire.
The designers put this package together, placed it on a disk and have created one of the few games guaranteed to have a sequel. A wonderful world that you control. Only an expert can create a game this realistic and enjoyable. I know that you’ll find not only an excellent game, but one with replay value that equals Halo.
It will not disappoint.
