Release notes:
There were some bugs found in the v2.1 Final ISO so this is being brought out about 3 days after the problem was found and fixed. A big apology to all that wasted their time and bandwidth on the v2.1 version.
However, I have updated XBMC to 2005-08-03 and also included the new FBAxxx which came out one day after I released v2.1.
Anyways, enjoy, and once again I'm very sorry for any inconvenience.

OK it's booming on BT at the moment, unfortunately this seems to be the main distrubition point atm.
I am still working on providing some more mirrors especially for our VIPs, but at this time I've done the best that I can.

I'm new at modding and am going to soft-mod using the two splinter cell files which are now on my memory card. I downloaded the AID ISO, then created a new ISO with a 100MB dummy file (the one included with the latest AID download) so that I can burn the final ISO on my CD-Burner (unfortunately I don't have a DVD burner). I just want to be sure that's all I needed to do (I downloaded some kind of dummy file creater, but did not use it because it looks like just adding one of the three .rar dummy files that came with the AID download works fine when I added it to the ISO updater). My final ISO is now 761 MB (798,117,888 bytes). I tried to just use the Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 that came on my Dell computer, but seem to have problems and will likely need to download Nero (that will burn DVDs AND CD-Rs, right?) Does it sound like I am on track here? I am wondering why the dummy file is needed... and what would happen if I soft-modded using the Splinter Cell exploit, but my AID CD did not work when I popped it in for the reboot? I'm not quite sure about the dummy files with aid2.1 but I don't think they are needed as they where not needed for 2.02.
Burn the iso with nero or dvd decrypter the slower the burn the better.
If AID fails to boot you can restore your original dash from the sid menu.
Maybe someone else can help a little more.

The dummy files can't really be used now on a CD-R / CD-RW because the size of the disc is big enough, it was mianly for older versions which were under 600mb in total, so the dummy just gave it that little extra boost so the dvd drive doesn't have to try as hard to read the disc right at the start of the cd-r/rw.

Installing the softmod part was much easier than I thought, but then you say to turn off the xbox and put in the Auto Installer Deluxe disk...the only way I could think of doing that is by opening the CD tray first, but as soon as I tried that, the tray came out for a second (not enought time for me to remove Spinter Cell), the Xbox quickly turned-off, then rebooted. I waited for Splinter Cell to fire-up again, then put in the Auto Installer Deluxe CD, but I keep getting error 21 on the top, left of the screen and the blinking red and green from the tray light. I'm thinking that maybe the CD burn is bad. Any ideas? The CD burner said the burn was good when I made it and finalized it (and I see that it is burned almost to the edge of the disk), but I don't see any information on the disk when I pop it into my Windows box. Is that normal because it is an ISO boot disk???

Hi littleglitch
Your almost there, remove the splinter cell disc before you reboot, insert AID2 after boot and complete the install.
You will not see anything on the disc in windows as it's an iso.

Just to be sure I'm understanding right...because the Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v2.11.Final.Manual.pdf says this:
Click on the “Install Softmod” option. This clears your C Drive of ALL files and copies over the files needed for the Softmod. Why does it delete everything you ask? It’s because the Softmod that I’m using is based on the latest MS 5960 Dashboard, which comes with the Auto-Installer Deluxe package.
Once you have done this, you can turn off your Xbox and restart it with the Auto-Installer Deluxe disc inserted. The disc will restore your MS Dash so there’s no need to panic.
It does not say to backup the MS Dashboard, nor install a hacked Dashboard at this time...BUT, I think you're saying that I'm supposed to install a hacked dashboard before it will recognize the AIDv2.11 IOS CD, right?
