I think DJB is out of the autoinstaller business for now. I don't know when he will be making any changes/additions to his autoinstaller.

I haven't really gone out of business, just taking a breather...
There's no use releasing a new autoinstaller every month, no-one would keep up with it. I'll probably wait until the end of the year or atleast another few months before I release a new one.
Forahobby and myself have been talking about the autoinstaller a little, and there's a few things that we have decided on:
* We won't release another auto-installer for a while, for the fact that a lot of new BIOSes will be coming out now, plus new versions of apps are always coming out. Plus, there's no new EvoX Dashboard (which is supposed to be the main object of this installer)
* The planned "Xbox-Hq EvoX Auto-Installer v2.0" will use the Media X Menu interface as the installer, so all new scripts and skin will have to be written.
Also, another idea just came to mind just then, hehe. I might make it not just an EvoX Installer, but cover most of the major dashboards. Just an idea at the moment but something that could definately be possible.
Anyways, that's my two cents at the moment on the project. Thanks to all members that support my work, I might open a forum thread in the future with suggestions for the new autoinstaller.

So, is this the v1.2.01 final final Beta?...HA!!
Gonna go check out the link now, very interested in what changes were made!!
Have you gotten any bug reports from anyone or anything? So far it seems that this puppy has been running/installing flawlessly for everyone!
The fact that the Slayers Autoinstaller is so dated, yours should be really circulating about now!
I personally haven't used it yet, but will be very soon.

Final Final beta? hehehe
v1.2 remains as the final beta still...
The reason why I called it that was because it's the final iso build. Every month or so I'll make these updates if anything important comes up, but most of the time it won't be apps, just bioses etc.
Yet something else SlaYer never did, hehehe
All due respect to SlaYer's installer, but mine seems to be the new installer on the block now, and I know for a fact nearly 300 ppl downloaded it here, and about 150 or so on bit torrent, so it's well and truely distributed well...
I should put the update up on bit torrent to see how much repsonse it gets, hehehe...
Anyways, I'm off to do that then it's bedtime for me.
Arrgh, start study again tomorrow for another 6 months. My final 6 months for my IT Diploma.

Cool, only six months left...I am sure you will be relieved when it is all behind you.
I still have 18 months left for Computer Forensics. I have some networking classes coming up, so I am sure I'll be picking your brain. The criminal law classes I am sure will also be a joy....HA. Who would have thought....me working with law enforcement...
I just can't wait to get to my first crime scene and confiscate a PC...HA.
I'm still not sure where my focus is going to be, whether to stick with private firms, go state or federal, or pursue homeland security. With all the child pornography, embezzlement, terrorism, hacking, computer crime, identity theft, and everything else that technology has brought us I think I picked a solid field to play around in for the next twenty years.

Yea I'd agree, just don't get posted in Australia and take my stuff!!
There are always these options if Mr. RealMccloy shows up on my door.
1) Bribe. It should be the quickest and easist solution.
2) Take away a different PC apart from my main one.
3) I just simply kill you.
Hopefully Option 3 can be avoided as it's truely a last resort, but Option 1 sounds like the less active alternative.
Would you agree?

Hey, i can't get the auto installer updater to work . When i get to the patch.bat part it just says "TZ environment variable not found, cannot use UTC times!!". Can someone help me?

The "TZ environment variable not found, cannot use UTC times!!" error is normal and doesn't effect nothing. It's becuae the unpacker I use is looking for other files that can work alongside with it, but they're not needed as it's just a straight-forward zip.

Yep that's basically it, all I wrote the updater to do is extract the contents of that zip file. Basically I have all the directory structures set up, so you could just copy it to the root of the extracted ISO, and then just use the "Extract Here" option (most ZIP programs should have this). This will unzip the whole contents in the right place (like the auto-installer's main ini file will be at /evox.ini and not /update/evox.ini)

Its been quite a while now since the release of v1.2 of the auto installer and so far no bugs.. Well none reported.. Well done DJB!
Also, I havent heard any bugs from the Emulator Auto Installer which is good too coz i helped code that script... lol

Thanks to everyone who has downloaded this. Remember for the full up-to-date version use the two patches I put on the site to bring your version up to v1.2.02. When you have both patches installed, the Evox M8 BIOS will be available, plus the EvoX Dash will search E, F, and G Drives for all your stuff when you install it on a large drive (I think the origianl 1.2 only looked on F because of my own configuration at home).
Basically how the updates work is you extract the 1.2 ISO, extract the contents of the update.zip file to the root of the directory where you extracted the ISO, then just make a new ISO of that directory. If you have no idea on how these patches are applied, just use my easy updater program.
So, Xbox-Hq EvoX Auto-Installer v1.2.02 is considered to be the FINAL build of this release.
Plans for v2.0 have already been discussed, but a lot of work needs to be done from others as well as ourselves before it can be released. For example, a new version of MediaXMenu will be included in this, and it will be used as the frontend for our installer.
We also need to get an introduction and loading video made for the installer, at the moment we're asking if anyone can assist us with this, otherwise if it's left up to me and Forahobby god knows what it will look like, hehehehe. Also since I do full-time study and forahobby does full-time work neither of us will more than likely have plenty of time to sit back and create some real kick-ass work. If anyone is interested in helping us please PM myself or Forahobby.
Apart from that, everything is somewhat quiet on the Auto-Installer development side. The Emulator Auto-Installer we released a couple of weeks ago seems to be going strong, and through some serious testing on my side before it was released there have been no reported bugs as of now. 72 downlaods in about 2 weeks is quite impressive.
Lastly, I just want to comment on how much content has been put on the site lately, it's really booming!! It wouldn't be too far from the truth to say that we are the #1 Xbox Community in the world. Keep up the good work.
