Is there anyway to remove some files from the .iso so thati can fit on a 650mb cd? I've tried to use some iso apps such as isobuster and ultraiso but it wont let me open the .iso. It says Invalid or not supported iso file. Any suggestions?

*edit*Nvm I used quix to delete 2 skin packs.

I didn't burn the disc properly..
I basically went through your excellent .pdf and downloaded that temp version of nero..because the one I currently had on my system kept fruitin' it up...
burned it at 4x speed..and bam....I'm in..
so far..so good..
thanks for the help ..I know I'm a little slow, but I just got off work..

I can't tell you how much better I feel now..that I actually got this accomplished...

I guess the next step will be a larger HD..
at any rate...thanks....now...I just gotta get into it by ftp..

With your largd HDD upgrade, if you're using a softmod which I'm guessing, just follow the tutorial in Appendix G in the AID 2 manual. Ofcourse if there's something you don't understand, make a post about it before attempting anything.

I'd only remove skin packs from the dashboard you're not gonna use, but I'm guessing this is what you did anyways.

I'm having en error when I try to install the dashboards under the applications menu. I install all applications and all is fine. Then when I try to install dashboards, when it starts installing Avalanch, I get a batch error at . and it says can't rename. then aborts. I have burned twice, on dvd-r at 2x, which I have never had a problem like this with 2.0. So I know the burn is good and I am using a 1g dummy file. Any Suggestions. I use the installer all the time so I know there must be a reason for this. It's only happened with 2.11, I did not try 2.1. I have also tried 2 different Samsung drives. any help would be appreciated.

I think I may start the larger HD upgrade tomorrow..I'll probably just snatch a drive out of my pc....
but right now..I'm trying to figure out why I can get the xbox media center dash to work.
I'll keep looking around but I'll definitely let you know how the harddrive upgrade went

buzzjockey....why don't you try installing the dashboards from the dashboard menu instead of the apps....and btw, dont be fooled my media....I used the same cdrw discs that had worked previously but for some reason they just did not want to work while installing aid2.11...read my posts at the beginning of this thread....for some reason when i switched media it all started working fine....dont know why it got picky to work to load bios' and what not but just did not want to load aid....who knows...i say try some other media just in case.

I usually do install the main dashboards from the dashboard menu, but the rest I like installed as apps, this way I have access to all of them. as for as media I only use DVD-R for AID, besides I don't think it was a media issue. It aborted when it tried to rename something during the batch process. When I tried a second time the error would occur earlier. I deleted the folders in the apps folder and it would get farther but stop at same place while trying to install avalaunch as an app. I'm just looking for it to work like 2.0 and install the dashboards as apps without having to do it manually. Thanx for the help though.

Post subject: Batch Error with AID 2.11

I am still getting an error when I try to install all dashboards from Apps install menu. It installs Anod fine and when it is installing Avalanch I get a batch error and it aborts and I cannot install my dashboards as APPS. I can install dashboards fine from the install dashboards menu to any partition but when I try to install dashboards from the applications menu I get this batch error. I have tried different media, diferent DVD drives and differnt Boxes. I have reburned as slow as possible , which I do anyway, and nothing solves this problem. 2.0 works fine but I would like to use the 2.11. The exact error is

Batch Process Failed.
The last item was: .
Action: Rename

I have read the entire thread and tried every thing suggested so far, like clearing game saves, deleteing folders, and have even tried on a freshly formated and prepared drive. Is anyone else getting this error or is it just me. I am redownloading AID and maybe this will siolve the problem. But I would just like a little help as I use this quite often and always tell customers to join the site to get there own copy, and many havebought subscriptions. PLEASE HELP ME solve this or at least give me some ideas on what to do . I end up having to do everything manually which defeats the purpose of the installer. I would even be willing to help serve the installer if I could at least getting it working. This is an AWSOME DISK and I apprecieate all the work that's been done to build it. If I could at least get an idea if this is only on my end.

Desperate for help
Thanx Buzzjockey

quick question. The XBMC dash that was included with the AID, I had modded a coworkers box and he had asked me why the all the movies skip over the menus, and he said some have subtitles, others run in differnet languages.

Since he lives 2 hrs form me, I really didnt have an answer for him, I told him to go intothe settings etc and play around, something has to be in there.

I have a chipped box running XBMC as a prog, and dont have this issue on mine, (and nor some of the "filters" he was talking about) since he lives 2 hrs away I really cant just grab his box and toy with it. He said he tried all the settings ( keep in mind this guy is not very suavey with tech, so i am assuming he missed something)

Is there a quick simple FAQ I can direct this guy without accualy having to get his box back from him so I can screw around with the settings to fix it?

Thanks a bunch and keep up the great work!

I've heard of this error before, but I need to know specifically where you're installing the dashboards to, which drive?

The only other thing I could think of is try another XBMC version from one of the older verisons (for example 1.01, or 2.02). I can't really support individual tools as such, only provide the latest releases. Hope that can help you out a little...

Thanks for the quick response. I think what I am going to do is just leave it alone and just add the DVD X region Free player.

It seems your version you aded to the disk was newer then mine so I dodnt know what filters or not that have been put in. Its all good. I am getting him to bring the box in tomorrow and I am going to screw with it, and I am sure I'll find it. if so, I'llpost it up.

again thanks.

Just to clear up also just incase you didn't know, XBMC can't play DVDs properly yet, you need DVDX for more accurate playback.
