I know, we are supposed to keep this stuff in the OFF TOPIC area but like you said, it's other posts that start this mess up.
I could try to split these things and place them in Off Topic I guess.
Hobbs main concern is that then we start this stuff, it tends to make the original post responses muddy and confusing.
There was one post I remember a while ago that the original question posted, it had like 25 responses (including an answer) and the rest was stuff like this.
So I see his point.

Well, we really haven't gotten too far off topic, so I see no harm
I know what it's like to turn an offspring onto modding....even though I have a little girl (8 years old) I have already put the soldering iron in her hand. She cracks me up... All she wants to do is either play disney's toontown or help me work on Xbox's...
Everytime I finish a machine she asks if it's hers....she already now has three machines! I have no idea what she thinks she can do with a fourth!
